🚯♻️🥤🚮 For DC Climate Week, we’re hosting a panel exploring how leading sports and music venues are implementing reusable cup systems to reduce waste and climate impact.

Panelists are examining the costs and benefits, how it works operationally, and what it takes to make reuse succeed at scale.

The Sierra Club DC Chapter is proud to endorse strong environmental leaders for DC Council:

• Oye Owolewa and Elissa Silverman for DC Council at-large
• Rashida Brown and Aparna Raj for Ward 1

These candidates have demonstrated a commitment to reducing pollution, expanding clean energy, improving public transit, and lowering costs for DC residents.

This is DC’s first election with ranked choice voting. The Sierra Club urges Ward 1 voters to rank Rashida Brown and Aparna Raj as their top two candidates—in either order.

The Sierra Club is proud to endorse three proven environmental leaders: Ward 3 Councilmember Matt Frumin, Ward 5 Councilmember Zachary Parker, and Attorney General Brian Schwalb.

Over the last four years, they’ve worked to cut pollution across DC, advancing clean energy, protecting our waterways, reducing plastic and lead pollution, and standing up to polluters.

• Matt Frumin has championed clean energy and efforts to get fossil fuels out of buildings while expanding efficient geothermal heating and cooling.

• Zachary Parker has led on environmental justice, introducing legislation to reduce pollution in overburdened communities and establish a climate resilience hub in Ward 5.

• Brian Schwalb secured the largest environmental settlement in DC history, forcing Pepco to pay $57 million for illegal toxic discharges that contaminated the Anacostia River.
