This week, officials in Tarrant County, Texas voted to eliminate 92 of the polling places the county used in the 2024 midterm election. More than 2 million people live in Tarrant County, and a third are Latino.

Civil rights and voting rights groups warn that the closures will disproportionately affect Black and Latino communities during one of the country's most closely watched Senate races.

The right to vote was won by communities who refused to be shut out of their own democracy; they will not be shut out now. Check your voter registration and make a plan to vote.

We joined more than 115 community-based organizations from our nationwide Affiliate network and delivered a letter to Congress demanding guardrails for ICE and CBP, and accountability for the violence at the hands of their agents.

Congress must advance a pathway to citizenship for the millions of longtime residents and workers left exposed by our broken immigration system. Legalization must go hand-in-hand with guardrails that protect our communities from unchecked immigration enforcement.

For Hispanic consumers, hundreds of dollars are adding up, and insurance is becoming one more heavy cost. Hispanic homeowners pay at least $28,500 in homeowners insurance over a 30-year mortgage compared to white homeowners. Explore findings from the Consumer Federation of America's report.

New report finds on average, homeowners in Black communities pay 16% more for homeowners insurance, or approximately $500 more each year, than homeowners in white communities. Homeowners in Hispanic communities pay 30% more, or roughly $950 more annually, than homeowners in white communities.
