The Tewaaraton Award is recognized as the pre-eminent lacrosse award, annually honoring the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States.

Visit www.tewaaraton.com. Lacrosse in one of the oldest team sports played in North America. Rooted in centuries of Native American tradition, the game took on many variations before reaching its present day form. “Tewaaraton,” is the Mohawk name for their game and the progenitor of present day lacrosse.

Long before lacrosse became the game we know today, it was a gift from the Creator to the Haudenosaunee people — a game rooted in tradition, community, healing, and respect.

On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the origins of the Creator’s Game and recognize the enduring contributions of Indigenous peoples to the sport and our world.

At the Tewaaraton Foundation, we are proud to celebrate this rich heritage and help preserve its history for generations to come.

With a record-setting 2026 campaign (tied for first all-time in the NCAA with 109 goals and sitting second with 159 points), Chloe Humphrey put up a stellar sophomore season for UNC while being named a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award Presented by Stifel. The NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and IWLCA Player and Attacker of the Year in 2026, she returns as a junior this fall after winning the Tewaaraton Award as a freshman in 2025.

After putting up a record-setting career at Syracuse and being named the 2026 Lt. Col. J.I. Turnbull Outstanding Attackman, Joey Spallina finished fifth in the Premier Lacrosse League regular season in scoring with 36 points in just 10 games for the Maryland Whipsnakes. Syracuse’s all-time leading points-scorer with 333, Spallina was a finalist for the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Presented by Stifel.

The youngest finalist for the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Presented by Stifel, sophomore Alyssa Chung was first-team All-American and the Patriot League Tournament MVP. Navy’s first Tewaaraton finalist, Chung put up 118 points in 2026, good for fourth in DI, while leading the Mids to a program-record 20 wins and an appearance in the NCAA Quarterfinals.

Finalist pics from the 2026 Tewaaraton Ceremony Presented by Stifel: Willem Firth was the 2026 Ivy League Attackman of the Year after putting up 52 goals (ninth all-time at Cornell) and 29 assists for the Big Red. He’ll be back this fall as a senior already ranking 14th on CU’s career goals list with 106.

Pics from Brigid Duffy’s trip to DC as a finalist for the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Presented by Stifel. Currently sitting second in points with 20 through four WLL games for the Maryland Charm, Duffy goes down as one of Army’s greatest all-time athletes, a four-time All-American in lacrosse and a Patriot League and ECAC Offensive Player of the Year in soccer. She finished her Army career as the program’s all-time leader in goals, draw controls, caused turnovers, and groundballs.

Finalist Appreciation Post: UNC’s Owen Duffy is a three-time All-ACC and All-American attackman who has put up 50 points in each of his first three seasons in Chapel Hill. This year Duffy, a finalist for the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Presented by Stifel, was a first-team All-American with 71 points. He was joined in DC by his parents William and Christine Duffy.
