👉⚽️ The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off in the U.S. this June, and millions of fans are expected to attend the games or participate in fan activities. But the excitement comes with real risks.

🚩The Trump administration has dramatically expanded immigration arrests, visa restrictions, travel bans, and police/ICE collaboration. Whether you’re flying in from abroad, driving across state lines, or navigating airports as a noncitizen already living here, knowing your rights is essential.

You may have seen a flurry of headlines over the past few months discussing immigration cases making their way through the federal courts. But what do these cases mean for you? Why does it seem that the same issue results in different decisions from different courts? What is the law where you are? This training will help you understand the federal court system, teach you key vocabulary, and provide updates on two major current issues in immigration law: the upcoming Supreme Court decision on TPS and the Yajure Hurtado bond eligibility cases.

Our FREE Community Defender Training will be presented in English with Spanish simultaneous interpretation available to participants.

You may have heard that ICE is trying to get people to "sign for their deportation." Our new community explainer outlines the various ways that ICE and CBP get people to agree to leave the United States, how to recognize them, and their legal consequences. It also provides information on CBP Home and so-called "incentivized voluntary departure."

We filed a class action lawsuit alongside Democracy Forward & National Immigrant Justice Center challenging a Trump-Vance policy that’s designed to deny detained immigrants access to legal relief.

Here’s how it works: Immigrants are required to submit biometrics (fingerprints, photos, signatures) as part of their applications for relief. DHS is required by regulation to collect those biometrics from people in detention. In December 2025, DHS announced it would stop doing that — while USCIS kept right on denying applications for missing biometrics.

That’s not policy. That’s sabotage. We’re suing to stop it. Read more at https://nipnlg.org/news/press-releases/detained-immigrants-challenge-trump-vance-policy-forces-automatic-denial.

Can the government lock up longtime U.S. residents—people who have lived here for years, raised U.S. citizen children, built lives in their communities—without ever giving them a chance to argue for release?

We just went before the Fifth Circuit alongside American Immigration Council to argue that the right to challenge your own detention is a cornerstone of the U.S. justice system.
