The last detained witness connected to Lorenzo Salgado’s case has been released. We are beyond thrilled and will be canceling our protest scheduled for Sunday.
For nearly 60 days, our community has worked tirelessly organizing, protesting, traveling to the Montgomery Processing Center twice, holding community programs, amplifying this case, and refusing to let Lorenzo or the detained witnesses be forgotten.

Together, we helped keep the pressure on until every detained witness was free. This is what community power looks like.

Now, our work continues. We must demand the names of the ICE agents involved in Lorenzo’s death and hold them accountable. Justice for Lorenzo. Accountability now. ✊🏽

On Friday, August 28, 2026, Rep. Al Green addressed reporters in Houston regarding his NEW articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump.

H.Res.1486, introduced on Monday, August 24, charges Trump with operating ICE and CBP as unconstitutional paramilitary police forces.

Nearly 50,000 ICE arrests in one month. Tens of thousands of people sitting in detention. Children spending weeks sometimes months inside facilities like Dilley. These numbers matter because they show us the scale of what is happening in our communities right now.

Daniel Tirado Pantoja has been released from ICE custody in Conroe after being detained since July 7. Daniel was one of the surviving eyewitnesses to the killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. After weeks of detention, he is finally able to return to his family.

Víctor Hugo Salgado Araujo, Lorenzo’s brother and another eyewitness, remains detained.
