For , we are partnering with to amplify : Sexual Violence As A Public Health Crisis. Historically, SAAM has been utilized to raise awareness about the realities of sexual assault by defining its dynamics, sharing key statistics, and framing it appropriately as a public health issue. But that has not resulted in its treatment as a public health crisis, contributing to rising rates of PTSD and other long term health issues. When we frame sexual violence as a public health crisis, we acknowledge that sexual violence is a systemic issue, compounded by racial, social, economic and environmental factors, and we hold government and public institutions responsible for creating adequate responses that address, disrupt and prevent further harm. Knowing demands that we be insistent on them to meet us exactly where we are.

We’ve joined over 120 gender equity and survivor advocacy organizations to demand to finalize the updated Title IX rules by May 2023. Read our joint letter: civicnation.us/j5t
