The Gaspee Days Committee
is a civic-minded nonprofit organization that operates many community events in and around Pawtuxet Village, including the famous Gaspee Days Parade each June. These events are all designed to commemorate the burning of the hated British revenue schooner, HMS Gaspee, by Rhode Island patriots in 1772 as America's

Warwick is still celebrating America's 250th!
The public is invited to explore local history at a free Revolutionary War and Colonial Era display.
Wednesday, November 4th • 5 to 7 p.m. • Sawtooth Annex Building • 65 Centerville Road, Warwick.
The event will feature lectures on the Revolutionary War and colonial history of Warwick and East Greenwich, exhibits by local historical organizations, and colonial-era artifacts shared by area residents.
Special Guest Speakers
Dr. John Concannon, historian for the Gaspee Days Committee
Matt Carcieri, historian for the East Greenwich Historic Preservation Society
The 250th essay winner Henry Offiler a 5th grader at Warwick Neck Elementary School will attend the event to receive his award.

The event offers an opportunity for residents to learn more about the region’s past and celebrate the people, places, and artifacts that preserve its history.
Admission is free, and the public is welcome.
Refreshments will also be provided.

🇺🇸🎶 Thank you, Rhode Island!

What a wonderful afternoon we shared Saturday at Pawtuxet Park for Becoming the United States – A Patriotic Concert.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special commemoration. Seeing friends, families and neighbors gathered together for an afternoon of music, history and community was exactly what we hoped this celebration would be.

Our heartfelt thanks to the performers who brought the afternoon to life — West Bay Chorale, Pawtuxet Rangers, Rhode Island Wind Ensemble and Benjamin Nacar — and to the Gaspee Days Committee members, volunteers and partners who helped make it all possible.

We’re also grateful to RI250 / Rhode Island Semiquincentennial Commission for supporting this special 250th anniversary celebration, and to everyone who helped share the event and invite Rhode Island to join us.

Most of all, thank you to our community for showing up and celebrating with us.

West Bay Chorale Artistic Director Eric Van Dervort joined Gaspee Days Committee President Natalie Abernathy on The Rhode Show this morning to talk about tomorrow's Becoming the United States – A Patriotic Concert.

Eric shared some of the story behind West Bay Chorale's longstanding relationship with Gaspee Days — a tradition dating back to the 1980s — and the music WBC will bring to this very special 250th anniversary celebration.
