Thanks to the donations we received from one of our donors, we were able to support a local church whose main congregation are Ukrainian immigrants that moved to the area after the war started. There is a large presence of single moms who's husbands have either passed away due to the war or are still over there in the military. They don't have the support of their biological families, but they have a community within the church.

We received donations that included outdoor games such as ring toss, large connect 4, a ax throwing game, and more. At an event in conjunction with Toys for Tots, children were able to play these games to earn candy and small treats. Families did not just come for the event to receive stuff and leave- they had the opportunity to socialize with other families in their similar situations and make friends.

Our February Dominican Republic Team had a family reunion yesterday. The weather was perfect, and it was just so wonderful to be together again! Praise God for bringing us together!

Last week marked the end of our Toys for Tots distribution event of the season with The Salvation Army, Allentown Corps. This was also our biggest event EVER with Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and Good360 where we were able to provide over 600 kids from ages 6-13 toys to celebrate the end of summer!
From Salvation Army: "A family of four with two school aged children attended the distribution to receive backpacks and supplies. Each child was also able to get toys. The parents expressed extreme gratitude because “purchasing toys is sometimes out of reach when trying to balance rent, utilities and grocery expenses” The toys allowed the children to experience the excitement of receiving something special while enabling the parents to focus their resources on essential household items."
A visit to Salvation Army is always a highlight of our summer and we were so glad to be able to do it once again!

It’s ! We want to give a shout out to one of our local rescues, Wet Nose Rescue! Through donations from Hands in Service, they are able to give coats, stuffed toys, and food to the dogs who get adopted from them! 🐶

Hands In Service has been serving in Hendersonville, North Carolina for over two years, working with several other organizations to help this region recover from the devastating blow provided by Hurricane Helene. The project site leader for Reach Global reached out to see if we could secure any roof shingles to help several families who needed a new roof, but couldn't afford the material. Shingles are not a donation that we would typically have sitting around our warehouse, but I committed to making a couple of phone calls. To my surprise, one phone call resulted in a donor committing to donate an entire semi load of shingles. But the story continues.

While in transit to our location, the truck hauling the shingles was involved in a fatal collision. The truck and shingles were impounded for over 2 weeks before the truck was released. Once the truck was released, the hauling company decommissioned the trailer, meaning the shingles needed to be transferred to another trailer. This transfer took yet another week. Finally the truck with shingles arrived at our Warrington location on a Thursday and was transferred yet again to another truck on Friday. Within 3 days the driver delivered the items to Hendersonville, where the site manager had a team installing the shingles a few days after delivery. Praise God for all the organizations and helping hands that made this blessing possible for these families in Hendersonville.

On Friday August 14th Hands in Service, https://www.hisinc.org joined the https://www.beanbagfoodprogram.org at Zion Mennonite Church to participate in their "Back to School Bash". We expected about 85 families and about twice that many came out. While volunteers from the Bean Bag Program distributed hygiene items, clothing and hot dogs and ice cream, Hands in Service allowed each child to choose two toys from our tables. It looks like they were pretty happy about it!

We got to distribute toys at Cornerstone Community Church- Philadelphia in Kensington, Philadelphia on July 30, 2026. Pastor Bill Curry and the whole congregation made sure that everyone that attended the event heard the Gospel loud and clear. Pastor Bill presented the Romans Road to salvation via PowerPoint and videos about how to access the Bible on your phone. There was so much interaction with the congregation and the children that it was easy to join in dynamic worship music that included children from the community leading us in dance moves.
There was a moment near the end of the evening that exemplified the impact Jesus is having through Cornerstone Community Church's ministry in Kensington, and how HIS is helping him share the gospel in tangible ways. There were several young people from the congregation volunteering during the event. They were opening boxes and making sure the toy tables were stocked. One young man from this group came up to me and started asking questions. “There are a lot of extra toys here. Will you take them home with you?” How do you get all these toys?” Is all of this really free?” Are these toys donated by Christians?” Is Hands in Service a Christian organization?” This young person was in his late teens or early twenties and he was very engaged not just in the toy give away, but in the whole process and outcome of the outreach in his neighborhood. As we finished out conversation, this young man thanked us for what we do and I thanked God for the opportunity to do it. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
