🚐 RESCUE RIDE ALERT! Yesterday, we picked up 10-year-old Gunner from ACCT Philly and welcomed him intro Brookline foster care. The shelter described Gunner as a Gentlemen and he lives up to that description. He said sweet goodbyes to the director; they had grown very fond of each other. He did great on the ride home in the car. We took him right to Concord Pet for a bath to get rid of the Eau De Shelter stink. He did great and really loved the bath. He met resident dog, Mabel, who is setting her boundaries but all is going well. Gunner is very chill and listens well. He ate well this morning and loves his treats. He likes to bark talk but settles quickly. He is the handsomest Dude. We look forward to seeing more and more of his personality.

📣 Stay tuned to our website blogs for updates—you won’t want to miss his progress!

💬 Every like 👍, share 🔁, and comment 💌 help us reach more hearts—and more homes—for dogs like Gunner. Thank you for being part of his journey. You make rescue magic happen! 🌟🐶

Blondie, an adorable almost 4-year-old cream colored yellow lab with lots of love to give, is now a fully acclimated house pet ready to find her forever home.

She would love:
• A family that can be with her most of the time
• An active family that will give her plenty of exercise both on walks and through play
• A home that is willing to work on obedience training so that she can continue to put her best paw forward
• A single-family home without shared walls — when she barks it is loud!
• A home where her size and excitement won’t endanger anyone who may get knocked down

Blondie is:
• Good with kids (who are old enough not to be knocked down)
• Good with men and women and happy to meet anyone
• Good with other dogs once she is properly introduced
• Not spayed, so the adopter will need to sign a spay contact

Blondie is 112 pounds, which comes from her former life having litters of puppies and living in a situation without regular exercise. For her safety, our vet recommends that she lose enough weight to get down to below 100 pounds before undergoing her spay surgery. Given this weight loss goal, Blondie will be adopted out with a contract requiring that her new owner gets her spayed once her weight is low enough to ensure a safe surgery.

Dolly is an adorable 12-week-old black Labrador mix whose owners were giving her away for free outside of a Walmart in Arkansas. A Monticello Second Chance Fur Dog Rescue volunteer saw her and asked the owners if they could safely rehome the puppy for them. Brookline has helped this AR rescue find loving adoptive homes for some of their other dogs, and now it is Dolly's turn!

Dolly's foster says she is a super sweet girl who does great in a crate. Dolly is a confident puppy and readily explores her new environment. She does well with all the other dogs out in the yard.

Dolly is UTD on vaccinations and just received her first dose of preventatives. She tested negative for parvovirus and parasites on 10/20. She will arrive on transport on Saturday, 10/31.

📲 Want to learn more? Visit her blog to read her full story, explore our adoption process and coverage area, and submit an application on our website. ✨ If Dolly finds her home before you’re approved, don’t worry — more wonderful Labs join our rescue family all the time.

🌟We are delighted to announce that Lucky has been matched with an adoptive family and has begun his pre-adoptive trial—two weeks of tail wags, cuddles, and new beginnings. 🐶💫

✨True to his name, Lucky is a lucky guy! Heidi and Cliff have been waiting over a year to be matched with a Brookline pup. They were previous Brookline adopters and love adopting senior dogs. Our volunteer, Sue S., devoted 110% of her time to rescuing Lucky and finding a safe place for him to land. Thankfully, the vet that he was first taken to when his owner went into nursing care refused to euthanize him as requested by the family. Sue worked tirelessly under a very short timeframe to find Lucky a safe landing and a new beginning.

May this be the first step toward his forever fairytale—a life filled with love, laughter, and endless adventures. 💚🐾

🎉 Big news for Sunshine. She's been matched with a potential adoptive family and has begun her pre-adoptive trial—two weeks of tail wags, cuddles, and new beginnings. 🐶💫 The family has already scheduled her Vet appointment to get a second opinion regarding her hips and to determine when it will be safe to have her spayed.

We’re hoping that this match is just the beginning of her happily ever after. 💚🐾

🐾 October 21 is National Pets for Veterans Day—a day to honor the healing bond between rescue animals and the heroes who’ve served.

At Brookline, we’ve seen firsthand how dogs offer more than companionship—they bring comfort, purpose, and unconditional love. For many veterans, adopting a dog isn’t just a new beginning—it’s a lifeline.

Today, we celebrate those life-changing matches.

We honor the veterans who’ve opened their hearts and homes.

And we recommit to helping more dogs become the loyal companions our heroes deserve.

💛 Know a veteran who could use a furry friend?
💛 Want to support our mission to make these matches possible?

Together, we can change lives—four paws at a time.

Goku is a super sweet boy that has been in foster care in MS with a rescue since he was 4 months old, and he is now almost 4 years old! The rescue in MS reached out to Brookline to help rehome him since finding loving, indoor homes in MS is no easy task as you can see from his length of stay.

He is a friendly but submissive boy who loves all people and dogs. He is excited to meet new friends and rolls on his back for belly rubs when greeting new people. He was good with an outdoor cat that previously lived on the property but hasn't been around a cat for about a year.

He is currently with a foster in MS but lives outside in a pen with another dog, along with 22 other dogs on the property. Living inside will be a new adventure for him. He will finally be able to experience all the wonderful perks that come along with living inside but will need a little bit of housetraining when he first arrives. Goku is treat motivated, so should be easy to train.

Goku is UTD on vaccinations, heartworm negative and has been on preventatives since he was 4 months old. He is fine without a fence, good on leash, and has spent time with kids over 5 and done well! Goku loves to play in water.

If you’re thinking about adding a new family member, Goku could be your perfect match. Please help us us work a little rescue magic and get Goku on his rescue ride North. All he needs to get his ticket on the transport is a Foster-To-Adopt family waiting for him when he arrives!🌟🐶

Pasha has been such a joy to have and he is really going to make an amazing pet for someone. He's ready to find his own joy and find his forever home!!

What Pasha wants in a forever home:

• Lots of attention! He is a total lover and a snuggle bug and likes to be near his people.
• Someone who is home more often than not or able to bring him around with him, at least at first while he acclimates.
• A calm dog in the house or solo dog.
• Exercise and stimulation - Pasha has proven to be very relaxed and calm when he is properly exercised. He is currently getting three 45 minute walks per day + playtime with our dog.
• Sniffaris and walks - Pasha is obsessed with sniffing and loves checking out new areas to sniff. Being confined to a yard as his only entertainment would be boring for him.
• Activities! Pasha is the perfect adventure buddy and is a very well mannered guest. He likes visiting friends, walks in nature, and hitting the neighborhood coffee shop.
• Someone willing to put a little work into keeping his handsome appearance - brushing is not optional, and his coat might need a little extra TLC to stay in great condition.
• Some manners training - Pasha loves to check out snacks on the counter and will jump to greet you. He can also be a little bit mouthy when there is a lot of excitement going on.

Pasha will be adopted with a neuter contract. Due to the incredible lack of chill of his foster home's resident dog, we think it would be more peaceful for Pasha to recover from surgery in his forever home.
