Understanding these differences before graduation can help students and families feel more prepared for the transition.

🎓 What's next after high school? Explore the possibilities!

Planning for life after graduation can bring lots of questions, but there are resources and opportunities to help students with disabilities explore their next steps!

Next Steps Day: Charting Your Path Beyond High School is a FREE event designed to help students with disabilities learn more about college, trade programs, and other educational opportunities after graduation.

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with college and training representatives, meet community organizations, and participate in informative sessions focused on preparing for life after high school. Families are welcome to attend, too!

For Welcoming Trick-or-Treaters:
🔸Costumes are optional.
🔸Be creative! Offer non-food treats.
🔸If possible, make your treat area accessible.
🔸Skip the flashing lights.
🔸Welcome all communication styles.
🔸Halloween is for all ages.
🔸Describe your treats.

✨Turning 18 is an important milestone, bringing new rights, responsibilities, and decisions. For individuals with disabilities and their families, understanding what changes at adulthood and what support options are available can make this transition feel less overwhelming.

Join PEATC in partnership with The Arc of Greater Prince William and Prince William County Public Schools Parent Resource Center for a VIRTUAL session of "Turning 18 in Virginia: What Individuals with Disabilities Need to Consider!"

This workshop will help families better understand the legal, financial, medical, and educational decisions that come with turning 18 and explore important considerations for planning ahead.
