Summer is paving-scam season and you're not imagining it. Law enforcement and consumer-protection offices across the country, including right here in our region, are reporting a rise in driveway paving, construction, and landscaping scams as the warm weather brings out traveling crews.
The pitch is almost always the same: "leftover asphalt" from a nearby job, a today-only deal, and pressure to pay cash up front before you've had time to think.
The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office and Fauquier County Triad want to help you stay one step ahead.
At the program, you'll learn how to spot the red flags, verify contractors, and protect yourself before signing anything. Seniors, caregivers, family members, and neighbors are all encouraged to attend. Knowledge is your best defense so let's keep our community safe, informed, and scam-free. π 540-347-3300 for more information.
Join them for a free community program, "Don't Get Taken for a Ride!", on Wednesday, July 1 from 10:30β11:30 AM at the Senior Center (Moose Lodge), 6415 Airlie Road in Warrenton.

β
Check reviews and complaints at BBB.org
β
