𝐎𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞: June 15, 1921, Bessie Coleman made history by graduating from the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale and becoming the first African American woman to earn a pilot’s license. After facing barriers to flight training in the United States, Coleman traveled to France to pursue her dream of aviation. Her determination helped pave the way for future generations of aviators and expanded opportunities for women and people of color in flight.

Inspired by pioneers like Bessie? Join a community of women in aviation through The Ninety-Nines and help continue the legacy of supporting, mentoring, and uplifting women pilots. ➡️ https://www.ninety-nines.org/join-99s.htm
