It is not a part of the Department of Defense or any of its components and it has no governmental status. The Museum of Aviation is the second largest museum in the U.S. Air Force with a collection dating from a replica of an early 1896 glider to modern-era aircraft such as the B-1B bomber, the SR-71 Blackbird, the U-2 Dragon Lady and F-15 Eagle. The Museum is accredited by the American Associatio

n of Museums. Exhibits tell the story of aviation events from World War II to the present, including depicting the mission of Robins Air Force Base, the largest industrial employer in Georgia.The on-site Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame displays the achievements and artifacts of civilian and military men and women who made significant contributions to aviation in Georgia. Admission is free and the museum is open 9 a.m. We are closed on all Federal Holidays and Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve after 1:00 pm. The Museum is located 10 miles east of I-75 exit 144 at the end of Russell Parkway.

Something fun is waddling its way to the Museum of Aviation this 4th of July!

Get ready for our annual Duck Hunt, where patriotic ducks will be hidden all across campus, inside and outside, for visitors to find. Each duck finder can bring one duck back to the Gift Shop and receive a prize!

Mark your calendars, gather your family, and start sharpening those duck-detecting skills. More details coming soon!

What an incredible Living History Day!

Thank you to everyone who joined us to commemorate the anniversary of D-Day and bring history to life at the Museum of Aviation. From meeting reenactors and exploring historical displays to participating in hands-on activities, flight simulations, scavenger hunts, and our costume contest, the museum was filled with curiosity, learning, and community.

A special thank you to the reenactors, volunteers, staff, and supporters who helped make this event possible. Your passion for preserving and sharing history created an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.

Most importantly, we thank our guests for spending the day with us and helping honor the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of the Greatest Generation.

We loved seeing families, history enthusiasts, and aviation fans come together to learn, explore, and connect with the stories that shaped our world.

Living History Day is tomorrow!

Join us as we commemorate the anniversary of D-Day and experience history brought to life throughout the Museum of Aviation. Meet WWII reenactors, explore authentic displays of uniforms, equipment, and artifacts, and hear the stories of the men and women who helped make the Allied invasion of Normandy a success.

Visitors can enjoy:

Visitor Notice for Today!

Due to ongoing improvements, an awning is being installed at the Eagle Building today. During installation, one entrance will be temporarily closed. Guests can still access the building through the north entrance, which will be clearly marked with signs.

All other hangars and exhibits are open and operating as normal. Thank you for your patience as we continue enhancing the Museum experience! Be sure to visit to see our improvements!
