Meet Our Volunteers: Tara & Jeanne 💜
Our volunteers are the heart of the Warminster Food Bank. Periodically, we’ll introduce you to some of the amazing people who give their time, energy and compassion to help our neighbors.
Today, we’re introducing Tara and Jeanne—lifelong friends whose journey with the Warminster Food Bank began during a challenging time in both of their lives.
In 2021, during a period of significant health challenges, Jeanne sought meaningful ways to stay engaged while her treatment was paused, and was encouraged by her husband to volunteer at the Warminster Food Bank.
Around that same time, Tara was dealing with health challenges of her own. Jeanne reached out and said, essentially, “We both NEED to do this. Let’s do it together.”
And they did. ❤️
What started as a way to find purpose during a difficult season has become something they can’t imagine living without.
Today, Tara and Jeanne volunteer at the food bank each week, but their involvement goes far beyond that. They attend community events, meet with churches and organizations, and help spread the word about the mission of the Warminster Food Bank.
And along the way, they’ve discovered something they didn’t expect: an incredible community.
“By volunteering at WFB, we have met amazing people—our fellow volunteers, our guests, and our donors. We are all in this together.”
“We have fun doing it,” they say. “Helping others helped ourselves heal.”
Their story is a beautiful reminder that sometimes when we reach out to help others, we find that we are helped, too.
We are incredibly grateful for Tara and Jeanne—not only for everything they do, but for the friendship, joy, compassion and purpose they bring to the Warminster Food Bank community.
Thank you, Tara & Jeanne, for being such an important part of our WFB family! 💜
