As schools in the U.S. wrap up for the summer, our students in Honduras are doing the same. This Friday we celebrate graduation at Amigos de Jesús Bilingual, and like every year, our staff is already preparing for the next school year that begins in August.

One of our goals this month is to provide backpacks and school supplies for every child before the new school year begins. Our Director created an Amazon Wish List, and we're collecting items now so they can be shipped to our Miami collection box and then transported to Honduras before August.

We want our children to walk into the classroom alongside the children from the community ready, equipped, and proud of what they carry. A new backpack filled with school supplies reinforces a message we strive to give every child at Amigos:
You matter. You are valued. Your education is important.

As we celebrate the final Mass of the school year at Amigos de Jesús Bilingual School, we're reminded that joy, faith, and a little bit of childhood enthusiasm are gifts from God.

A special thank you to Fr. Jobel for welcoming our children so warmly into the parish community and helping them experience that they are part of something much bigger than themselves.

Amigos de Jesus was honored to be able to host one of our gatherings this week with our Director of Operations Kemci Alvarez Puertorriqueño a space built through vision, culture, perseverance, and deep commitment to community.

As we walked through the building and heard more about the history behind this venue, it was powerful to listen about how much hard work, advocacy, sacrifice, and belief it takes to create places that truly uplift people.

Spaces like this do not happen by accident. They are built by individuals who care enough to invest in the future of their community and preserve dignity, identity, education, and opportunity for the next generation.

It felt incredibly fitting to share the mission and vision of Amigos de Jesús in Honduras in a place that so powerfully reflects the impact of community-driven transformation.

At AdJ, we work every day to provide children and young adults who have experienced abuse, abandonment, and neglect with safe homes, a bilingual education, healthcare, counseling, and pathways toward independence and hope.

Thank you to Taller Puertorriqueño for your hospitality and for creating such an inspiring environment for conversation and connection, to for your partnership and support, and to for the wonderful food that brought everyone together around the table.

This week, Amigos de Jesús had the opportunity to connect with supporters across Philadelphia area from our Golf Outing to gatherings within the Latino community all centered around the transformational work taking place in Honduras for vulnerable children and young adults.

We were especially honored to have our Director of Operations, Kemci Alvarez, with us to share the progress, growth, and hope happening every day at AdJ.

Here are a few highlights from our Golf Outing where more than 20 foursomes, generous sponsors, friends, and even a few Philadelphia Eagles came together to support children who have experienced abandonment, abuse, and extreme poverty helping provide safe homes, education, healing, and a pathway toward independence and opportunity through our bilingual school and programs in Honduras.

A special thank you to the team for their outstanding hospitality and professionalism. Year after year, they do a remarkable job creating a first-class experience with such care, organization, and attention to detail, and we are incredibly grateful for their partnership.

None of this is possible without this incredible community of sponsors, friends and all supporters of AdJ.
