Franklinville-Schwarzwald Männerchor

The Franklinville-Schwarzwald Männerchor is the only German men's chorus in the Philadelphia area. The rehearsals usually start at 7:00 P.M. for the men.

Jacqueline Smith is the Music Director for both choruses and delights in working with all interested singers. While we sing more in German than in English, we have many members who speak both German and English, and there are a goodly number of our members who do not speak or understand German - but love to sing and are very happy to be a part of this singing experience.

We are singing our Weihnachtslieder at the Brauhaus Schmitz Christmas goose dinner again this year. It's a great evening of good food and drink, lighting of the Christmas tree, and beautiful TTBB German Christmas settings by Franz Biebl sung by the FSMC.

What a wonderful day! It was truly an honor to see the borough of Rockledge rename Huntingdon Pike to PFC Helmut Boehm Memorial Highway today, in memory of our wonderful Helmut Boehm, who passed away last year at the age of 99. Helmut was such a gentle soul who sang with us for many years, but also a true American hero. He fought bravely in WWII and saved many lives, including the liberation of a concentration camp. It was such a privilege to be a part of the ceremony and share this moment with his family and members of the Rockledge and German communities. Thank you to all of those that made this happen!

We're singing German Weihnachtslieder and English Christmas Carols with the Damenchor Wald-Echo at the Vereinigung Erzgebirge Christkindlmarkt again this year! Saturday at noon and 2:00, out by the bonfire and the Glühwein—see you Saturday 11/30!

Boy, was the joint jumpin' at the Vereinigung Erzgebirge letzte Nacht. Here we are after rehearsal, drinking birthday toasts to Tom Lever in the Ratskeller, surrounded by UGH dancers and the dart club.
