Her smile does not overshadow her exuberance for life!
Catalina came into rescue as a medical case. She was hit by a car and left for animal control to pick up. Her main injuries were a broken pelvis and fracture/luxation at the base of her tail. The good news is that this girl’s pelvis healed impeccably, however the fracture at the base of her tail left her without feeling in her tail. Unfortunately this meant that her tail had to be amputated to prevent her from eventually chewing it off.
What she lacks in a tail she sure makes up for in personality. Catalina loves anyone and everyone. She shows it by showering you with kisses and hugs. Like most young labs her enthusiasm for life sometimes results in jumpy behaviors. While she has made great strides with curbing this behavior in her foster home she will need an adoptive family that can continue providing her with that structure and guidance. Catalina is a half glass full kind of girl. She is always up for a walk, doggy playtime, fetch or whatever fun activities life brings her way. Let it be known that she is no couch potato and will need a fairly routine exercise regiment. She is doing well with her house and crate training, but leash skills are still a work in progress. If you love labs and don’t mind a missing tail Catalina just may be the pup for you. Email [email protected] today to setup a meet with this happy girl!
