Thank you to everyone who participated in Drug Take Back Day this past Saturday! 💊

➡️ Swipe to see the upcoming community events that we’ll be attending — we can’t wait to see you there! 😁

With the support of our community, we collected over 94 pounds of unused medications at Wappingers Town Hall and more than 100 pounds total across our Wappingers and Amenia sites!

We’re incredibly grateful for the strong, connected collaborations that made this possible. This year, we were proud to partner with Assemblyman Anil Beephan’s office, Town Supervisors Joey Cavaccini (Wappingers) and Rosanna Hamm (Amenia), and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.

We look forward to continuing to build meaningful partnerships and expanding our impact across the community.

Over 100 lbs of unused and expired prescription drugs were collected yesterday during Drug Take Back Day in the towns of Amenia and Wappinger.

That means hundreds of pills and controlled substances are now safely secured and will never end up on our streets or in the wrong hands.

Thank you to Kirk Imperati, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, CAPE, and Supervisors Cavaccini & Hamm for partnering on this important initiative.

Great turnout for Medication Take-Back Day!

Thank you to Assemblyman Anil Beephan, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Kirk Imperati, and Town Supervisor Joey Cavaccini for their support and partnership. We’re also grateful to our incredible support teams at CAPE, Mental Health America (MHA), Fidelis Care, the National Guard Counterdrug Task Force, and Legislator Faust.

Both Earth Day and Take-Back Day were recognized in the Town of Wappinger, highlighting the importance of community and environmental health. As shared by the Supervisor, the effort is about “taking both garbage and drugs off the street.”

This was a wonderful example of our community coming together to promote safety, awareness, and well-being. Safe medication disposal plays a vital role in protecting both our community members and the environment, contributing to a healthier, safer future for all.

Reminder: Unused medications can be safely disposed of year-round—drop them off at your local medication drop boxes, available 365 days a year.Dutchess County Sheriff's OfficeTown of WappingerJoey CavacciniCouncil on Addiction Prevention and Education - CAPEDutchess County GovernmentCounterdrug Task ForceNational Guard Counterdrug ProgramMental Health America of Dutchess County, NYCody Walters GonzalezCounty Legislator Robert Faust
