Join us for Conversational Lenape for Grown-Ups, an 8-week course that is part of an effort to preserve perhaps the most fundamental aspect of Lenape culture - their language. Participants will learn simple conversational Lenape including: greetings and responses, asking for things, numbers, colors and the names of plants and animals. Celebrating our new StoryWalk® and Reading Bench!

We had a wonderful celebration Saturday morning as we officially unveiled the Helen Kate Furness Free Library’s new StoryWalk® and Reading Bench with a ribbon cutting ceremony! More than 70 people joined us to paint rocks, enjoy cake, and take a first stroll along the StoryWalk.

The StoryWalk® and Reading Bench were created by Virginia Reitmeyer as her Girl Scout Gold Award Project, and we were thrilled to have Virginia’s Girl Scout troop there to celebrate with her. We are so grateful to Virginia for bringing this wonderful space to our library and community.

We gratefully acknowledge the generous support of Hollywood Landscaping, Retorra LLC, Nether Providence Township, and the Providence Garden Club of Pennsylvania.

A special thank-you to Rep. Leanne Krueger, who joined us for the celebration and presented Virginia with a special citation recognizing her achievement.
