Access to capital remains one of the biggest barriers for small tourism businesses, particularly those working to build models that are rooted in community and long-term sustainability.

We are excited to continue and expand our partnership with to support the next phase of the TUI Futureshapers Global initiative. This work is focused on getting the right kind of support into the hands of locally rooted entrepreneurs, in a way that reflects how their businesses actually operate and grow.

Over the next two years, the initiative will support a new cohort of tourism enterprises across multiple destinations, with a structure that is designed to be practical and long-term, allowing capital to be repaid and reinvested to support future businesses.

Some of the earlier businesses supported through this work include .way in Bali, reconnecting tourism with agriculture and community-based livelihoods; , restoring marine ecosystems through art and reef regeneration; in India, supporting women artisans near wildlife habitats; in Cambodia, creating locally led, low-impact travel experiences; .rwanda, supporting conservation and community development through tourism; and in Jamaica, working with smallholder farmers and connecting visitors to cacao production.

This next phase continues our collaboration with TUI Care Foundation, building on what we have learned together through the Reset Tourism Fund and expanding this work to new businesses and destinations, while continuing to provide long-term support to the kinds of tourism enterprises shaping a more inclusive and resilient tourism sector.

As part of our B Corp Month series, we’re also looking at how B Corps are shaping not just how businesses operate, but how capital is structured and where it flows.

In Latin America, IMPAQTO Capital continues to show what that can look like in practice. As part of , Ecuador’s first Certified , they are building an impact investing model rooted in the realities of the Andean region, using flexible financing to back entrepreneurs tackling some of the region’s most urgent challenges.

Their latest investments reflect that clearly. In Peru and Ecuador, .pe is reducing food waste while expanding access to affordable food by helping restaurants, bakeries, cafés, and supermarkets sell surplus products through a digital marketplace. Across the Andean region, .la is modernizing freight logistics by connecting more than 220 corporate clients with a network of over 40,000 independent truck drivers, improving efficiency, reducing empty miles, and supporting more stable demand and faster payments. In Colombia, is addressing greasy wastewater from commercial kitchens through patented technology that removes up to 99% of fats and oils, helping protect water systems while improving workplace safety and turning waste into biodiesel inputs.

Each of these investments is backed through flexible, non-dilutive financing, designed to align with how these businesses operate and enabling them to grow without giving up ownership.

At the same time, IMPAQTO Capital is building toward its next phase. Alongside early steps toward Fund II, they are exploring what a future investment vehicle for the Andean Amazon could look like, focused on regenerative value chains, standing forests, and community-rooted enterprise models.

For us at the UnTours Foundation, this is exactly why we invested in IMPAQTO Capital’s Fund I, helping move catalytic capital to locally rooted fund managers who understand their regions deeply and can structure financing in ways that are more useful and responsive to the entrepreneurs they back.

March is Month, and as we continue this series, we’re highlighting another Reset Tourism Fund investee reshaping outdoor adventure travel across the UK.

is a Certified based in Wales, led by Claire Copeman, designing small-group and self-guided outdoor adventures, from long-distance hikes like the West Highland Way and Offa’s D**e Path to cycling routes in North Wales and trips across the UK’s mountains, coastlines, and rural landscapes.

Their trips are built with a clear focus on where tourism spend goes. By working with independent guesthouses, local guides, and small businesses, they help keep more value in the communities travelers move through, supporting more consistent, year-round income where tourism is often uneven. That same thinking shapes their itineraries, with rail-based routes, longer stays, and a focus beyond high-traffic destinations to ease pressure on overcrowded areas and bring visitors into regions that see less of the economic benefit.

They’ve also been early in putting numbers behind impact. As the first inbound UK tour operator to carbon label their trips, they track emissions, reduce where possible, and invest in native woodland creation.

In partnership with , they’ve led trips for travelers with accessibility needs, while also creating more space for women in adventure travel through an all-women team and tailored departures.

Through , their tours incorporate trail clean-ups and environmental data collection, contributing to efforts to better understand and reduce plastic pollution across the UK’s trails. And through their partnership with , they create opportunities for young people from underrepresented backgrounds to spend time in the outdoors, often for the first time, opening up access to landscapes and experiences that haven’t always felt accessible or within reach.

We’re proud to support Adventure Tours UK through our Reset Tourism Fund, backing a team that’s keeping more of the benefits of travel with local communities while creating more ways for people to access and feel part of the outdoors across the UK.

March is Month, and as we continue this series, we’re heading further south to another Reset Tourism Fund investee working closely with communities to shape how tourism creates value on the ground.

is a Certified based in Peru, led by Annelies Hamerlinck and Pablo Moreno, designing travel experiences that go beyond the highlights to create real connections with people, culture, and place across Latin America.

Their gender-focused Sacred Valley route is built in partnership with communities like Huayllafara and Amaru, with a deliberate focus on women’s participation, visibility, and income generation through tourism. In the Amazon, new itineraries developed with Indigenous communities in Madre de Dios are creating experiences grounded in ancestral knowledge and local leadership. Across all their operations, 92% of tours ran with minimal single-use plastic, and 100% of travelers were actively engaged in responsible travel practices.

They’re also continuing to invest in the people behind the experiences. In 2025, 85 individuals took part in hospitality and guiding training, building skills that translate directly into income, confidence, and longer-term career pathways within tourism. Much of this focus is on female guides, who represent around 90% of their team, with ongoing investment in strengthening technical and leadership skills, expanding access to certifications and higher-value roles, increasing earning potential, and supporting greater independence as primary income earners within their households.

We’re proud to support Vamos Expeditions through our Reset Tourism Fund, backing a team that is investing in local businesses, supporting women guides, and creating more stable opportunities across the communities they work with across Latin America.

March is Month, and as we continue highlighting businesses using business as a force for good, we’re turning to another Reset Tourism Fund investee putting a deeply regenerative model into practice.

Playa Viva is a Certified on Mexico’s Pacific Coast, where hospitality is rooted in restoring the land, supporting the local community, and working in balance with the surrounding ecosystem.

Fully off-grid and powered by solar energy, operates as a regenerative eco-luxury retreat where every part of the model connects land, community, and long-term resilience. Through our partnership with , we supported the upgrade of their solar energy system, strengthening their ability to operate as a zero-emissions property and showing what clean energy can look like in practice for tourism.

Through their on-site conservation program, , Playa Viva has helped release over 450,000 sea turtle hatchlings along this stretch of coastline. At the same time, restoration work in the Juluchuca watershed is improving soil health, stabilizing water systems, and bringing biodiversity back to previously degraded land. Across it all, tourism revenue continues to support local farmers, artisans, and families connected to the property.

As David Leventhal, owner of Playa Viva, shared, “We are deeply grateful for this investment made possible by Skyscanner. Together, we are building a future where travel fuels positive change and leaves a lasting positive impact on the world.”

Taken together, it’s a model where travel is directly tied to the health of the land and the well-being of the people who call it home, and we’re grateful to for their continued commitment to advancing regenerative travel through our Reset Tourism Fund partnership.

March is B Corp Month, a global moment that brings together a growing movement of over 10,000 companies across 100+ countries, spanning more than 160 industries and over 1 million workers, all united by one goal: to use business as a force for good.

Blue Apple Beach is one of them, and one of our Reset Tourism Fund investees at the UnTours Foundation.

On Tierra Bomba Island, just off the coast of Cartagena, is an ecolodge that has built a model where tourism directly supports community livelihoods and environmental restoration. 85% of costs stay in Colombia, with 60% of suppliers coming from microbusinesses, including 30% that are minority-owned. Revenue from the ecolodge flows into community-led funds in Bocachica, supporting education, elderly care, clean-ups, and local initiatives defined by residents themselves.

Blue Apple Beach is also investing in the ecosystems it depends on in tangible ways. Their glass recycling program is turning waste into usable materials while creating local jobs. Mangrove restoration efforts are helping protect coastal ecosystems and rebuild natural buffers against climate impacts. Native tree planting is bringing back biodiversity across the island, supporting pollinators and restoring degraded land over time.

This is the kind of business B Corp Month is meant to highlight, one where decisions about where money flows, who benefits, and how a place is cared for are built into the day to day of the business.

Today we are proud to celebrate the remarkable leadership of Reset Tourism Fund investee , founder of , who was recognized in ’s Women Who Travel Power List 2026, honoring the women shaping how the world travels.

For nearly two decades, Muna has asked a simple but powerful question about tourism itself: who gets to tell the story of a place to the travelers who visit it?

Through Baraka Destinations, she and her team have built a model where the answer is clear: the people who live there. Across Jordan, artisans, farmers, guides, and small business owners are leading tourism experiences rooted in their own knowledge, traditions, and daily lives.

Baraka’s model also addresses one of tourism’s biggest global challenges: economic leakage. Across its initiatives, 73% of revenue remains within the communities Baraka partners with, supporting local livelihoods and strengthening small businesses.

At the UnTours Foundation, we are proud to support Muna’s work alongside our funding partner , which helped fund the launch of Baraka’s Amman City Tour. The experience invites travelers to explore Amman through the memories and voices of the people who know it best, uncovering stories often overlooked in traditional tourism and offering a deeper, more human understanding of how the city has evolved into the vibrant place it is today.

If Muna’s work resonates with you, we encourage you to follow to learn more about their work and discover ways you can support their community partners during this time. Sharing their story, amplifying their work, and supporting community-led travel experiences all help ensure that local people continue to benefit from tourism in meaningful ways.

Last Friday, UnTours and the UnTours Foundation closed our doors in solidarity with those protesting across the country. It was a simple act of radical kindness, a principle that sits at the heart of both organizations. Today, we follow up with additional action to support immigrant and refugee communities who are facing fear, violence, and disregard for fundamental rights.

Our responses are not an attempt to wade into political debates. UnTours’ mission is to foster a healthy and healing society that unites people of different cultures. As a company and as individual humans, we feel compelled to call out and address activities that are contrary to that mission.

So we’ll embrace what we know best—using travel to facilitate cross-cultural connections, cultural appreciation, and respect for our shared humanity—by donating a portion of every sale to support those who have been directly affected.

Starting today through Valentine’s Day (February 14, 2026), we will donate $500 from every UnTour booked to the National Immigrant Justice Center, a nonprofit focused on upholding human rights and due process, and helping those who have been wrongfully detained to be released.

We recognize that this moment calls for both immediate action and sustained, long-term work. Some needs are urgent and demand resources right now; others require deeper systems change so that every person has a real and lasting right to life and opportunity. Our commitment is to hold both truths at once.

This work will not end after Valentine’s Day. It will continue through our decades-long commitment to direct 100% of UnTours’ profits to the UnTours Foundation, which supports entrepreneurs of all backgrounds—proudly including immigrants and refugees—with investment capital to build strong businesses and communities for all. You can meet the entrepreneurs at the heart of this work and learn more about the UnTours Foundation’s investee portfolio here: https://untoursfoundation.org/about-us/our-portfolio/

Radical kindness and real love show up in decisions, not declarations. They are reflected in what we pause, where we redirect resources, and what we are willing to give up in the service of a more just and humane world.

Thank you for being part of our community and for considering booking an UnTour in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day, the day of love.

With love,
The UnTours & UnTours Foundation Team

Today, UnTours and the UnTours Foundation are pausing normal business operations.

We are giving our team the opportunity to participate in today’s general strike and to stand in solidarity with immigrant and refugee communities, and with all those standing up to injustice across the United States.

We are acting in response to the vilification, detention, and deportation of immigrants and refugees, and the use of violence by ICE and other law enforcement agencies against immigrants, demonstrators, and community members. Continuing with business as usual simply does not feel appropriate.

We want to be clear: we stand against violence in all its forms, by anyone. As we reflect on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (whose birthday we just celebrated), we affirm the power and necessity of peaceful protest, moral courage, and nonviolent action.

In moments like this, radical kindness—a principle that sits at the heart of our work—demands action that meets immediate, urgent needs and invests in long-term resilience.

For those looking to act alongside us, we encourage you to protest, call your representatives, and support organizations on the ground that are providing immediate assistance to individuals affected.

This is not the full extent of our response.

Next week, we will share more about how UnTours and the UnTours Foundation will commit resources to support long-term economic resilience for immigrants and refugees.

We are living through a moment in which real policies are causing real harm to real people, many of whom are part of the communities we travel with, learn from, and belong to. As an organization rooted in travel, cultural exchange, and shared humanity, we cannot remain silent.

Radical kindness guides how we make decisions, especially when those decisions require us to pause, to redirect, and to give something up. Closing our doors for a day is one such decision. More will follow.

Thank you,
The UnTours Team
