Over the years, the Museum has traditionally hosted an auction or costume party during the Halloween season. This year, however, we decided to postpone our large celebration for later to mark the publication of the book, "Rose Valley: An Arts & Crafts Experiment, 1901–1916". As a substitute we have planned a special workshop to bring us back together within the confines of the Museum. On October 25th we will be tasting the Flavors of Southern Italy in the lower studio of Thunderbird Lodge. Seating limited for this event.

Following his well-received 2024 lecture on the Underground Railroad, Harold Finigan returns to the Rose Valley Museum to offer a unique perspective on America's 250th anniversary based on the administrative and executive mandates of the Quaker "Meeting for Sufferings". The Religious Society of Friends navigated a transformational era during the Revolutionary War and well into the early 1800s. Their stance on pacifism made them political outsiders, but in the decades that followed, they channeled their moral focus into organizing the first formal anti-slavery movements. We hope to see you at the Grace Rotzel Center at The School in Rose Valley as the Rose Valley Museum kicks off a new year of inspiring discussions!

From Frank Lloyd Wright’s breathtaking Fallingwater to the historic Byrdcliffe Colony, these tours are always a highlight of our calendar. Spending the night gives us time to enjoy a delicious dinner and a relaxing evening together, followed by a morning visit to a related local property. Spring is here and May is the perfect time to sit outside, have food and beverages available, games for the kids, live music in the background, and conversation with neighbors and friends. We will see what specialty drink will find its way into Jack's Bar this year. This picnic presages all those upcoming summer gatherings, but this one is not at your house and it takes place near the end of the school year which may give some families a break.
