: Have any of you been to Banyuls-sur-Mer in the summer?

It's in the Roussillon region of Southern France, about a 20-minute drive from the border of Spain. In Banyuls, Grenache is king, the summer is hot, and the Mediterranean Sea is where locals cool off.

This summer, Famille Pierre Gaillard is conducting a trial on one of their plots at Domaine Madeloc using a natural, calcium carbonate-based 'sunscreen' product approved for organic farming.

The goal? To protect the leaves and grape clusters from intense heat, reduce transpiration and the risk of sunburn, and help the vines better withstand periods of heat stress in Banyuls-sur-Mer.

Follow them to see how it progresses!

Spring in Sierra de Gredos!

This is what lies beneath every bottle of Las Moradas: granitic sandy soil, bush-trained vines planted in the 1930s, and the silence of the Sierra de Gredos at 870 metres above sea level. In June, the leaves are still young and the clusters are beginning to form. In a few months, all of this will be in the glass 🍃🍇🍷
