We provide TNR, kitten/cat trapping & socialization, feral assistance, limited re-homing, cat health Billy the Kidden Rescue began in the summer of 2013.

Our Mission at Billy the Kidden Rescue is to improve the lives of displaced cats and kittens and reduce feral cat populations in Hampton Roads by socializing outdoor-born & unwanted kittens for adoption into forever homes. Since its start, the rescue has saved countless cats and kittens mainly through its practice of TNR (trap, neuter, return).

Through TNR, we have significantly decreased the f

eral cat population and reduced the number of kittens born into an environment in which their chance of survival is slim and their suffering inevitable. Billy the Kidden Rescue is also a foster based rescue. Even with all our efforts to implement TNR, hundreds of kittens continue to be born outside every year. Whenever possible, we attempt to place kittens born to outdoor ferals in foster homes to be socialized and adopted into forever homes. We're the largest home based rescue on the East Coast and our extensive network of fosters enables us to break the cycle for hundreds of cats annually.

Meet Rhydon! 👋

🩶This handsome 4 month old boy may be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a little time to feel safe and you’ll soon discover the sweet, loving kitten underneath. Once Rhydon decides you’re his person, his wonderful personality really shines! 🥰

🩶And you’ll definitely know when he’s happy because this little guy has a VERY loud purr! His purr motor is anything but shy!😻

🩶Rhydon is also playful and he enjoys all kinds of toys. He loves chasing, batting, exploring, and finding new ways to entertain himself. When playtime is over, he’s happy to stretch out in a sunny spot and settle in for a cozy nap. ☀️💤

🩶One of his cutest qualities? Rhydon LOVES watching TV with his people! If you’re settling onto the couch for a movie or your favorite show, he may just curl up beside you and become your new favorite TV buddy.📺

🩶Rhydon is cat, dog and kid friendly. He’s looking for a family who understands that some of the sweetest bonds take a little time to build. Give this boy the patience and security he needs, and you’ll be rewarded with love, playful companionship, cozy couch time, and one wonderfully LOUD purr! 🏡

♟️Meet Rook & Bishop!♟️

These inseparable 5 month old brothers are ready to make their final move—straight into a forever home together! ♟️

🖤 Rook is a sleek little house panther dressed all in black.
🤍 Bishop is a handsome black-and-white tuxedo with plenty of personality.

Together, these boys are the perfect combination of sweet, silly, affectionate, playful, and incredibly snuggly.🤗

♟️These two LOVE people and can never get enough attention. They’re gentle, curious, wonderfully communicative, and always ready to soak up some affection. When they aren’t cuddling with their humans, they’re busy being kittens—chasing toy mice, batting balls around their track toys, attacking wand toys, and investigating absolutely everything. 😂

♟️They’re also quite the little athletes! But after a good round of kitten Olympics, they’re happy to curl up together for a cozy nap. ❤️

🐈‍⬛Rook & Bishop are wonderful with children and love other cats. Their experience with dogs is unknown.

♟️These handsome brothers came to us from an overcrowded local shelter, and unfortunately, we don’t know much about their life before that. What we do know is that they’ve been through enough uncertainty and deserve nothing less than a loving, stable home where they can stay together.

A couple of things their future family should know:

💊They’ve been working on improving their gut health and will need to continue a daily probiotic.
🧽They have VERY strong opinions about litter box cleanliness! 😂 They absolutely do not appreciate a dirty box, so their bathroom must be scooped regularly. A Litter-Robot might just be their dream come true!

♟️Rook & Bishop are affectionate, playful, athletic, curious, gentle, communicative, and completely devoted to each other.

Now they’re ready for the best part of their story: A forever home. Together. Always. 💯

Some duos are simply meant to be! These adorable 4 month old siblings do everything together—playing, eating, zooming around, and eventually collapsing into one fluffy kitten pile. They MUST be adopted as a pair. 💯

🥭Mango is a gloriously fluffy black long-haired boy with a personality to match his fabulous coat! He’s brave, curious, playful, and always ready to investigate whatever catches his attention. New toy? New room? New adventure? Mango is on it! 😹

🥝Kiwi is a beautiful gray girl with a plush coat and gorgeous golden eyes. She can be a little shy at first, but having Mango by her side helps her confidence shine. Once she feels comfortable, she’s playful, affectionate, and may even roll over for belly rubs! 🥰

🫶Together, these two love laser pointers, wand toys, chasing balls, and each other. And after all that kitten chaos, there’s nothing better than curling up together for a cozy nap. 💕

📣Jolly Update! 📣

❤️Jolly is doing great after her hernia surgery, and she’s starting to put some meat on those tiny bones! When she weighed in last week, she was just 3.10 pounds. Now she’s up to 4.7 pounds—almost a whole pound gained in less than a week! 🎉

🤗She’s taking her medications like a champ, and her incision is healing beautifully. ❤️‍🩹

🐈‍⬛And here’s something we learned about our teeny little girl: Jolly isn’t actually a kitten! Despite her tiny size, the vet estimates she’s a young adult, probably around a year old, based on her teeth and what they could see internally.

😿She has simply been so severely malnourished for so long that her little body never had the chance to grow the way it should. 💔

🩸Jolly is also very anemic, so right now our focus is on getting her blood levels back where they need to be, helping her gain healthy weight, and giving her body the time and nourishment it needs to heal.

But overall? She’s recovering beautifully! 🥰

🫶Every extra ounce, every good meal, and every day she gets stronger is another reminder of just how far this tiny girl has come.

Meet Gracie! 👋

🌟This beautiful tabby girl has come a long way—and now it’s finally her turn to be cherished.❤️

🌟Estimated to be 4–5 years old, Gracie spent much of her life outdoors after her former owner moved away and left several cats behind. Kind neighbors stepped in to provide food, water, and shelter, and Gracie slowly learned that people could be trusted.

Then came kittens. 🐱🐱

🌟Gracie disappeared beneath a nearby home and later returned with two tiny babies. Arlo was spotted beside the house, while little Junie was discovered hiding inside the rim of an SUV tire! 😳 Thankfully, all three were brought indoors to safety. Gracie was an amazing mama, but her babies are grown—and now she’s ready for a home of her own.

And what does Gracie think about indoor life? She’s pretty happy about it! 🥰

🌟She’s calm, quiet, laid-back, and perfectly content to spend her days relaxing. She isn't particularly interested in toys, although she occasionally surprises her people with a playful little swat. 😂 She loves napping up high on the cat condo or claiming her foster mom’s desk chair as her own.

🌟Gracie has done well with cats and children and has been comfortable around the dogs in her foster home. She would likely do best with a respectful dog and slow, careful introductions.

🌟She’s both loving and independent. She may need a little time to trust you, but once she does, you may find this sweet girl following you around the room, asking for affection and soaking up all the love she missed during her years outside. ❤️

After spending so long worrying about food, shelter, and protecting her babies, Gracie is ready for something she deserves more than anything:

🏡 A safe home.
❤️ A soft place to land.
🐾 A family of her very own.

Meet Lark! 🤗

🕊️This beautiful 4 month old girl is as sweet as she is adorable! With her precious face, big expressive eyes, and those cute white paws on her left side, Lark is sure to steal your heart. 🤍

🕊️Lark is a gentle, quiet girl who likes to take life at her own pace. New people and experiences can make her a little hesitant, but once she feels safe, her sweet personality begins to shine. Her tiny high-pitched mews, happy chirps, and soft purrs are absolutely precious! 🥹❤️

🕊️She’s the perfect mix of playful and independent. Lark enjoys wand toys, lasers, her ball track, and playing with her siblings, but she’s just as happy relaxing in a cat tree for some peaceful alone time. And if there’s wet food or a Churu involved? Lark is definitely interested! 😻

🕊️Lark isn’t bonded with a sibling, but she enjoys the company of other kittens and would likely do well with a calm young adult cat. She hasn’t been introduced to dogs or children yet.

🕊️Her story began with her friendly mama, a neighborhood cat who had already endured about three litters outdoors. Mama repeatedly tried bringing one of her kittens to a kind Good Samaritan who had been feeding the neighborhood cats. That wonderful person brought them inside—and then, the day after Mother’s Day, Mama surprised everyone by giving birth to six more kittens! Lark and her siblings were finally given the chance to grow up safe indoors. 🐾

🕊️Now Lark is ready for a forever family who will let her take her time, earn her trust, and blossom at her own pace. Give this sweet girl the patience and security she needs, and she’ll reward you with gentle companionship, adorable chirps, and a lifetime of purrs. 🥰

Tiny but mighty—that’s Lotus in a nutshell! 💯

🪷At 5 months old, this adorable girl may be the smallest of her litter, but she has absolutely no idea that she’s supposed to act like it! Lotus is sweet, outgoing, playful, and wonderfully rambunctious. She’s the kind of kitten who brings a whole lot of personality in a very tiny package. 💕

🪷Lotus came to her foster home as a baby with her three sisters and brother, and they’ve all grown into happy, fun-loving kittens. She absolutely loves having feline friends around and gets along wonderfully with other cats. In fact, Lotus must go home with a kitty friend—because this little girl thrives with a playmate by her side!

🪷Her favorite activities include rolling, wrestling, and pouncing with her siblings, chasing p**f balls, and attacking crinkle toys with great enthusiasm. When she finally runs out of steam, you’ll likely find her curled up in her kitten hammock, recharging for her next adventure. 😸

🪷What makes Lotus truly special is her tiny-but-mighty personality! She may be the littlest one, but she has enough confidence, curiosity, and kitten mischief for the whole crew. She’s sweet enough to melt your heart and energetic enough to keep you laughing all day long! 🥰

Hi, I’m Louie! 👋

🐮I’m an adorable 3-month-old cow kitten with a sweet face and a BIG love for playtime! ❤️

🐮When my five siblings and I were rescued from a backyard at just 5½ weeks old, I gave my foster mom one little hiss…and then immediately shed all traces of spice - I decided being a lovebug was much more fun! 😻

🐮I’m a high-energy boy who loves running, wrestling, and playing with my siblings. I’m also the most sensitive of the bunch, so sometimes I enjoy a little quiet introvert time before I’m ready to jump back into the action.

🐮My absolute FAVORITE toys are spring toys! I carry them around in m
y mouth like a puppy and especially love taking them into the bathtub for some serious spring-toy soccer. ⚽️

🐮I adore other cats and will need a young feline playmate in my forever home. Even better, adopt me with one—or both—of my siblings, Howdy and Priya! 🐈‍⬛

🐮I’m also a fan of cozy beds, window watching, ball tracks, catnip mice, wand toys, and Churu treats. Basically…if it’s a toy, I’m interested! 😹

Howdy! I’m Howdy! 👋

🐮I’m a 3-month-old cow kitten with a big personality, an even bigger purr, and one adorable little eyebrow marking! 🤠🐾

🐮I was rescued with my five siblings from a backyard when we were just 5½ weeks old. I’ve been a social little guy from the start. When people walk into the room, I start purring—and sometimes I even lift one paw to wave “HOWDY!” 👋

🐮I’m a high-energy kitten who plays hard and loves hard! I’m happiest when I have another young kitty to chase, wrestle, and nap with. I’d love a feline playmate in my forever home—and even better, you could adopt me with one of my siblings, Louie or Priya! ❤️

🐮When playtime is over, I’m all about cuddles! I love being held and petted, and I’ll put my paws on your chest and look right into your eyes with a soulful little stare that is VERY hard to resist. 🥹
