Billy the Kidden Rescue We provide TNR, kitten/cat trapping & socialization, feral assistance, limited re-homing, cat health Billy the Kidden Rescue began in the summer of 2013.

Our Mission at Billy the Kidden Rescue is to improve the lives of displaced cats and kittens and reduce feral cat populations in Hampton Roads by socializing outdoor-born & unwanted kittens for adoption into forever homes. Since its start, the rescue has saved countless cats and kittens mainly through its practice of TNR (trap, neuter, return).

Through TNR, we have significantly decreased the f

eral cat population and reduced the number of kittens born into an environment in which their chance of survival is slim and their suffering inevitable. Billy the Kidden Rescue is also a foster based rescue. Even with all our efforts to implement TNR, hundreds of kittens continue to be born outside every year. Whenever possible, we attempt to place kittens born to outdoor ferals in foster homes to be socialized and adopted into forever homes. We're the largest home based rescue on the East Coast and our extensive network of fosters enables us to break the cycle for hundreds of cats annually.

✨✨It’s TUESDAY TWOSOME time! ✨✨

Hi, we’re Corduroy and Ranger, two bonded brothers searching for a home together! 😻

💛When we say bonded, we mean BONDED! Always together, inseparable, can’t- live-without-each-other bonded. Need proof? Just look at our pictures!

💛We recently turned 1 year old in foster care; we have watched our sisters and other fosters get adopted, and we don’t understand why we haven’t been chosen. Our foster mom says it’s because shy kitties often get overlooked, but she knows there is a family out there who can see the amazing little souls hiding beneath our shy exterior!

💛Need some silly quirkiness in your life? We’re your guys! We are really smart boys who are actually trained to respond to the word “kittens!” — if you say it from anywhere in the house, we’ll come running to you. Come on, how many cats can say that?

💛We were born outside to a feral mama kitty; our mama got TNR’d (Trap Neuter Return), and we went into foster care to be socialized. We were pretty spicy at first, and it took us some time to trust humans, but we have come a long way. We’ll do best in a calm, quiet home with older (10 years and up) or no kids, and experienced adopters, who understand it will take us time to adjust to a new environment.

💛If you invest your time, patience and love into us, you will see us blossom over time, and be rewarded with our love and affection. We love other cats and get along with a range of other kitties in our foster home; we haven’t been around dogs. We are currently enjoying wet and dry food!

🧡Did someone say quirky? Here I am! I am a very routine oriented kitty; when I first decided I liked pets, I would ONLY let my fosters pet me while I was standing on the bathtub. I’ve since branched out, but I’ll still run to the edge of the bathtub and yell loudly if I want someone to come pet me.

🧡I’m the quieter and calmer brother, and I’m also more affectionate toward humans. I love to play with my brother, I’m a big fan of catnip toy mice, toy tunnels, ball track toys, and I LOVE to hang out in the top tier of my treehouse for a good long catnap. My foster mom loves my quirky personality and says that I am an old soul. When my kitty friends get into shenanigans, I am always close by with a concerned look, trying to talk them out of making poor life choices. If only they would listen……..😹

🤎I’m a bit more rambunctious than my brother, and I LOVE to run and play endlessly! I’m more independent, but I will accept pets when I’m in the mood, particularly when I’m sleepy and winding down. Recently I’ve started approaching my foster mom at mealtimes and asking for pets before I settle down to eat. When I’m playing….. well I’m all business, and I gotta keep it movin!

🤎I share my brother’s love of playing with other kitties, catnip toys, tunnels, ball track toys, and our treehouse….. I also love playing with pens. Yep. Pens. Guard your ballpoints folks, cause I will find them and kick them under any available furniture. My foster mom loves my playfulness, and how my eyes get big like saucers when I spy a fun toy. I’m always up for an adventure!

🖤🧡Extra Special Adoptable Bonded Pair 🧡🖤

Some kittens are simply meant to stay together.

Meet Helix & Spiral— two tiny survivors whose story began before they were even born.

When they were found as newborns, they were still attached to one another by their umbilical cords. Tragically, part of Spiral's umbilical cord cut off circulation to one of her back legs, leading to an amputation when she was only a week old 😭

But if you think that slows her down, you've never met Spiral.

Today, this three-legged tortie races through tunnels, wrestles with her brother, climbs cat trees, and zooms around the house like every other kitten. She doesn't know she's different — and honestly, neither will you.

Beside her every step of the way has been Helix.

With his striking blue eyes, gentle heart, and easygoing personality, Helix is everyone's friend. He adores people, loves to play, and is never far from his sister's side.

Together they have overcome so much.
Together they learned to trust.
Together they healed.

And together is how they must stay. 💕

These two are deeply bonded and must be adopted as a pair.

Hi, I'm Wasabi! 👋

🖤I'm 2½ years old, and I've been waiting for over a year to find my purrfect match. Hard to believe, right? I don't understand why no one has chosen me yet, but I'm hoping my forever family is out there reading this right now!

🖤My story didn't start out very happy - I was rescued from an abuse case along with my sister. We were lucky to make it out safe, but sadly, not all of the cats did. These days, I'm focused on looking forward and finding the loving forever home I deserve!

🖤People always tell me I have a handsome face, but apparently I look a little grumpy. Don't let that fool you—I'm actually a pretty happy guy! When I want attention, I'll let you know with a meow, then I'll turn around and present my backside for my favorite thing ever: butt scratchies. I enjoy pets, but I like them on my terms, and I'd really rather keep all four paws on the ground instead of being picked up.

🖤One of my favorite hobbies is watching birds and squirrels on TV or on your phone. I could watch them for hours! I also love wand toys, especially the ones with little worms attached to the end. When it's time for a nap, you'll usually find me tucked under a blanket somewhere up high or lounging on a cat tree.

🖤As for food, I'm a fan of Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers and Purina One dry food. And Churu treats? Those are basically the greatest invention ever!

🖤I absolutely love other cats and would really enjoy having a feline friend in my new home. I've never met any dogs, and young children make me a little nervous. Because I'm a sensitive guy, I'd do best in a quieter home with no young children, or with older kids who understand that sometimes I need a little space. A friendly cat around my age—or maybe even younger—would be the perfect companion.

🖤I've spent more than a year watching other cats leave for their forever homes while I wait for mine. Maybe it's because I take a little time to build trust. Maybe it's because my grumpy-looking face hides what a sweet guy I really am. But once you get to know me, you'll discover a loyal friend who loves butt scratchies, bird videos, tasty treats, and the company of other cats!

🖤I've come a long way from where I started, and now I'm ready for the next chapter. Could you be the purrson I've been waiting for?

🐾💚 MEDICAL MONDAY UPDATE: HARTLEY EDITION 💚🐾

A couple weeks ago, Hartley arrived at Billy the Kidden Rescue scared, injured, and unable to properly use his leg after what appeared to be a severe animal attack.

His leg was swollen, painful, and covered in bite wounds. Thankfully, there were no broken bones, but he needed veterinary care, medications, antibiotics, and lots of time to heal.

Today, we're thrilled to share some wonderful news...

✨ Hartley is completely healed.
✨ Hartley is thriving.
✨ And best of all... Hartley was ADOPTED this past weekend! 🏡❤️

This sweet boy never let his difficult start define him. Through every vet visit, medication, and recovery day, Hartley remained loving, affectionate, and trusting.

Stories like Hartley's are why rescue matters.

Because sometimes all a cat needs is someone willing to stop, help, and believe they're worth saving.

Thank you to everyone who supported Hartley's medical care, shared his story, donated, prayed, and cheered him on during his recovery journey.

Meet Big Foot — a 3-month-old fluffy tabby-and-white heartthrob who has been caught lurking in suspicious locations throughout his foster home.

Most notably?
🚽 The bathroom.
Every. Single. Time.

If his foster mom heads toward the bathroom, Big Foot is immediately on the case. Privacy? Never heard of it. This little investigator firmly believes that no human should ever have to p*e alone.
