Pebbles is already soaking up all the love in her foster home. 🥹💜

Her foster sent us this sweet video of Pebbles getting kisses, and just look at that little tail wag. After everything this girl has been through, seeing her feel safe, loved, and happy means so much. 🐾

Pebbles is here. ❤️

We knew from the pictures that Pebbles was in really bad shape, but seeing her in person is honestly heartbreaking. The pictures just do not fully show how bad her skin is, how much hair she has lost, or how much her little body has clearly been through. She has already improved some from when she first arrived at the shelter that took her in, but seeing her up close really puts into perspective just how severe her condition has been.

The good news is that, as bad as everything looks, everything we know about right now is treatable.

We want to give a huge thank you to Dr. Britton and the staff at Hilltop Veterinary Clinic for squeezing Pebbles in today so she could be seen.

And of course, Pebbles showed everyone there just how sweet she is. She let them do everything they needed to do to examine her and help her, and was just so incredibly sweet through all of it.

Right now, Pebbles is dealing with a skin infection, an ear infection and an eye infection. Based on the condition of her skin and her body, it is also very clear that this is something she has been dealing with for a long time. This did not happen recently.

It also looks like she has more than likely had multiple litters, and her front teeth are very worn down, possibly from chewing on a crate, kennel or something similar.

One thing we are keeping a close eye on is her eyes. There was some concern she may have something called entropion, which is when the eyelid rolls inward and causes the eyelashes or hair to rub against the eye. Right now, we don’t know if what we are seeing is because of all of the inflammation from her skin infection, or if she actually has entropion and may eventually need surgery. At this point, we just don’t know yet, so we are taking everything one step at a time.

Pebbles is going into a foster home today where she can finally rest and start healing. She will also have multiple follow-up vet appointments so we can continue monitoring her progress, see how she is responding to treatment, and address anything else that comes up along the way.

We also want to say thank you again to everyone who donated toward her care, shared her post and helped us be able to say yes to her. We’d also like to thank the pilots who flew Pebbles here and helped get her safely to us. We are so grateful to everyone who has played a part in getting this girl where she needed to be.

She has obviously been through so much, and for who knows how long.

But from this point forward, Pebbles is finally going to know what it feels like to be loved, cared for and safe. ❤️

She still has a long road ahead of her, but it is all uphill from here. 🐾

Imagine hurting every single day and having no idea why.

Your skin is raw and sore. You’re missing hair all over your body, and you’re so itchy that you keep scratching, even though it only makes everything hurt more. Your eyes are swollen and irritated. You’re uncomfortable, probably exhausted, and you have no idea why any of this is happening to you. You just know that you hurt.

And then, on top of all of that, you find yourself in a strange place, surrounded by unfamiliar sounds, smells, and people. You don’t know why you’re there or what’s going to happen next.

For Pebbles, this isn’t something to imagine. This is what her life looks like right now. 💔

And while she had no way of understanding it, whether she ever got the chance to stop hurting depended on someone choosing to save her.

Pebbles is estimated to be about 5 to 7 years old and was at risk of being euthanized if no one stepped up for her. When we saw her, we knew we couldn’t let her story end there.

Despite everything she is going through, Pebbles is incredibly sweet and social. She has severe hair loss, raw and open skin, suspected mange, a significant skin infection, and swelling and discharge around both eyes. She has already started treatment, but she still has a long road ahead.

It’s also pretty evident that Pebbles has had puppies before, more than likely several litters. We don’t know her history or whether she was used for breeding, but we do know she deserved better than this.

So we said yes. ❤️

Pebbles will be coming to Hope for Life Rescue on Monday, and now she finally gets the chance to start over.

Please consider donating toward Pebbles’ care. She will need continued veterinary care, medications, medicated baths, and plenty of TLC as she heals.

Update: Foster Found 💕

🩷 Foster Needed for Sophie 🩷

Meet our newest senior girl, Sophie! At 11 years old, this sweet lady deserves a cozy home.

Sophie is a little overweight, and we’re looking for a foster who can help her on her weight-loss journey while giving her the comfort and love she deserves. The rescue has been a little overwhelming for her, and she’s understandably nervous.

✨ Sophie:
🐾 Loves going for walks
🐾 Loves pets and snuggles
🐾 Does well with other dogs
🐾 We suspect she’d do just fine with cats (and we’re happy to cat test her!)

The best part? We provide everything you need—food, supplies, medications, and veterinary care. All you have to do is open your heart and home.

If you’re willing to give this sweet senior the quiet place she deserves, please comment below! Let’s help Sophie trade the rescue for a comfy couch. ❤️

Meet Lorelai and the unfortunate situation that is her mouth. 😣😥🦷

Lorelai is an 11 year old senior dog who was recently surrendered to animal control after her owner could no longer care for her. We learned that she has a history of seizures, but fortunately, they appear to be well controlled with medication. 🐾

We were asked if we could help her, and thanks to a foster stepping up, we were able to welcome her into our care today. 🏡❤️

We expected that, as a senior, she may need dental care, but it wasn’t until we did our intake exam that we realized just how extensive it would be. 😔

Lorelai is suffering from severe dental disease and will most likely require multiple extractions. 🦷💔 This will be very costly, but it is something she definitely needs, as we can’t imagine how painful her mouth must be. 😣

If you would like to donate toward Lorelai’s care, please consider giving what you can. 💜 Every donation helps. She is such a sweet little girl 🐶💕 and will feel so much better once those rotten teeth are removed. 🦷✨

Tobias is here to remind you that he is still waiting for a family to pick him. ✨🐝💜

He is an incredibly affectionate dog that enjoys human closeness and true connection.

He’s around 6 years old and would do best in a home with no other dogs. We aren’t sure about cats, but can definitely test him.

If you’re interested in Tobias, please email us at [email protected]
