Another great day on the course with our veterans at the DAV Chapter 92 Heroes on the Green Golf Outing!

These outings are about much more than golf—they provide camaraderie, fellowship, and an opportunity for veterans to connect with others who understand their experiences. Building these relationships helps combat isolation, supports mental well-being, and strengthens our veteran community.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make another successful outing possible. We look forward to seeing even more veterans join us next month! 🫡

June 13th is National Posttraumatic Growth Day. It’s part of National PTSD Awareness Month and was initiated by the Boulder Crest Foundation to recognize that veterans and others impacted by trauma can experience profound growth and transformation. Together, let’s shift the focus beyond the struggle that trauma causes to acknowledge the strength and resilience that can be found in the journey of healing.

Something we are monitoring closely:

This proposal would effectively stop compensating veterans for the impact of service-connected tinnitus and dramatically reduce compensation for most disabled veterans suffering from sleep apnea if they use a medical device (CPAP) while sleeping.

Once again, we find ourselves in the regrettable position of having to defend the benefits that disabled veterans earn through their service and sacrifice. As fellow Veterans, our Chapter Service Officers understand the benefits process can be overwhelming. Our goal is to provide our local Veterans with guidance and assistance throughout the Claims process.

If you are a Veteran who needs Claims assistance or know of a Veteran who needs this, please reach out to our Chapter. We host Claims Days with Chapter Service Officers on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. Please reach out to the Chapter to make an appointment or ask questions.

Before a veteran reaches a national service office, they often begin with a chapter or department service officer. These local advocates help make the first and hardest step easier.

So we tried something new today at our weekly DAV food pantry here at the Vet Center in Victorville. We did the food distribution outside for the first time as we’ve been talking about this for some time now to see how it would go. Learned what worked and what didn’t. This may be the way of the future as once the kinks are worked out, it’ll be A LOT more efficient. BTW, if you didnt notice, we got a ton of food today that went to much needed Vets and their families today. Thanks to our DAV volunteers, we were able to help people that need it the most, get the food they need. Huge shout out to our incredible volunteers that helped out today. Without them, this isn’t possible.

Remember...🫡

On June 6, 1944, the U.S. and other Allied forces launched the D-Day attack—the largest amphibious invasion in history—storming the beaches of Normandy and turning the tide of World War II.
We remember the thousands who gave their lives that day, 82 years later, and we honor all who served in World War II—on the front lines and on the home front—whose courage secured the freedoms we know today.
