MEEC is accepting applications for Environmental STEM Mini Grants!

💰 Typical awards: $500–$800+
📚 Projects must connect to environmental education and current standards.

Ideas can include:
💧 Water conservation
♻️ Recycling & waste reduction
☀️ Renewable energy
🔬 Environmental science experiments
🌎 And your own creative STEM ideas!

📍 Open to teachers in the High Desert, Antelope Valley & Palo Verde Valley.

Thanks to funding from Mojave Water Agency , the MEEC Environmental School Garden Lab Grant is now accepting applications, with awards of up to $1,000 to help educators start, expand, or sustain school garden projects.

And this year, we’re excited to see creative, waterwise projects!

Grant funds can support:

🌿 Hydroponic & soilless growing systems
💧 Drip irrigation & water-saving solutions
🌵 Drought-tolerant & native plants
🌱 Wicking beds & raised gardens
☀️ Greenhouse supplies
♻️ Composting systems
🪴 Seeds, soil, tools & garden supplies

Applicants will be asked to explain the project's environmental education component, connection to educational standards, implementation timeline, budget, and how the project promotes water conservation.

📍 Who can apply? Educators teaching at schools in the High Desert portion of San Bernardino County, Antelope Valley, or Palo Verde Valley of Riverside County.

💰 Grant Awards: Up to $1,000
📅 Application Deadline: November 1, 2026

🚫 Labor costs and food are not eligible expenses.
