🌞 OEP Summer Program is Back! 🌞
Our Outdoor Equity Program at Famspot is officially in motion for the summer!
This program is designed to get our youth outside, active, and learning through real-world experiences that build confidence, teamwork, and leadership. From hiking and camping to rafting, outdoor skills, and team-building challenges—this summer is all about growth through experience.
🌲 Outdoor adventures & nature exploration
🛶 Rafting, camping & recreation trips
🤝 Team-building & leadership development
🔥 Life skills through hands-on learning
🌄 Safe, structured, and supportive environments
OEP is more than just trips—it’s about giving youth opportunities to step outside their comfort zone, connect with nature, and build stronger futures.
This program funded by the Outdoor Equity Grants Program, created through AB 209
and administered by California State Parks, Office of Grants and Local Services.

🎉 A HUGE congratulations to Kelsey Michaels, one of Family Assistance Program’s dedicated Grant Writers, for successfully completing the four-week Grant Writing Course through AcademyGo!

This achievement reflects the dedication, persistence, and passion that help strengthen the work of Family Assistance Program and the services provided to our community every day.

We are proud to celebrate this accomplishment and excited to see the continued impact this knowledge will bring to the individuals and families we serve! 👏

This last Sunday, our OEP staff and youth spent the day at the Chaney Trail in Altadena helping remove invasive plant species from the area. 🌿
Projects like this give our youth the opportunity to give back to the environment, learn about conservation, and work together as a team while helping protect native ecosystems for future generations.
We are proud of the hard work and dedication our youth continue to show out in the community. 💚
Thank you to the U.S. Forest Service for inviting us out and allowing our youth to be part of this meaningful project!

Last Saturday Rudy and Kristina from Fam Spot proudly attended the NAMI California Youth Mental Health Symposium in Apple Valley.
This impactful event helped spread awareness among the teen community by creating a welcoming and engaging space where young people could learn, connect, and feel supported around mental health.
