It's National Donut Day. YUM!!
Give this simple recipe a try:
Air Fryer Donuts with Canned Biscuits
Ingredients:
1 can of refrigerated biscuit dough (like Pillsbury Grands)
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Dough:
Open the can of biscuits and separate them. Using a small round cutter or a bottle cap, cut a hole in the center of each biscuit to create the donut shape. Save the holes to make mini donuts!
Preheat the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3-4 minutes.
Air Fry the Donuts:
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with a non-stick spray. Place a few donuts in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t touch. Air fry for 4-5 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and fully cooked. Repeat with remaining donuts and donut holes.
Brush with Butter:
Once the donuts are done, brush them lightly with melted butter while they’re still warm.
Coat with Sugar:
In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon (if using). Roll the warm donuts in the sugar mixture until well-coated. You can also dip the donut holes for a delicious bite-sized treat.
Optional Glaze:
For a simple glaze, mix 1 cup of powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of milk and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Dip the warm donuts in the glaze and let them set on a cooling rack.
Why Use an Air Fryer?
Less Oil: Air frying reduces the amount of oil needed compared to deep frying, making the donuts lighter and healthier.
Quick & Easy: You get a crisp exterior and soft interior without much fuss!
