Friends of the Vestavia Hills Library The Friends of the Library believe that a library is essential to the cultural, educational and economic well-being of Vestavia Hills.

The Friends assist in promoting the functions, resources, services and needs of the Library in the Forest. FRIENDS BOOK STORE

The Friends of the Vestavia Hills Library Bookstore, located on the main floor, offers a large selection of previously owned fiction, non-fiction (cooking, travel, religion, etc.), children’s books, CDs and DVDs, and paperbacks. Come in and browse or make a donation! All d

All are invited to enjoy fellowship and programs in the Community Room of the Library in the Forest. Unless otherwise noted, doors open at 10am for fellowship and pending business and the program begins at 10:30am. FRIENDS MEMBERSHIP

The Friends need your support. Join and help Library in the Forest be the best it can be! Annual membership is $20 per individual or $30 per couple. Donations are also accepted, greatly appreciated and tax deductible!

The Vestavia Hills Friends of the Library is having our next program this Thursday, May 21, 2026, in the Community Room of the Vestavia Hills Library. The doors will open at 10:00 A.M. so you can enjoy light refreshments and have time to chat. Our speaker this month is Chef Chris Zapalowski, owner of the Homewood Gourmet. Chef Chris is planning to give a demo of simple and easy cold food preparation. He will include some short cut tips on preparing appetizers and/or finger foods. His talk will start at 10:30 A.M. This meeting is free and open to all interested adults.

His talk/demonstration will start at 10:30 A.M. This event is free and open to all interested adults. Light refreshments will be served.

The Friends of the Library officers are holding a board meeting on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. in the Community Room of the Library. If you are interested in becoming an officer (we need a Secretary) or are interested in working on a committee such as programing or hospitality, please join us at the board meeting.

The Friends Bookstore sustained water damage last week. Because of the damage the Bookstore will be closed for 3 weeks. No book or media donations are being accepted until further notice. We will let everyone know when it is up and functional again.
