You'll find them all at www.solanolandtrust.org. Our anchor

properties at Jepson Prairie, the King-Swett Ranches, Lynch Canyon and Rush Ranch represent the rich and varied landscape that makes Solano County unique. From rare vernal pools to tidal marsh wetlands to rolling serpentine grasslands, our properties serve an important role in preserving these habitats for residents in the local community, the Greater Bay Area and all of California. Working in close partnership with landowners, state and federal agencies, cattle and sheep grazers, nonprofits and our many dedicated volunteers, we'll continue to protect and preserve Solano County’s farmland, ranchland, and open space well into the future.

Through the combined experience of partnering with horses, becoming aware of our breath in meditation and abstract painting, you explore metaphors which mirror your life experiences, personal growth, and self discovery.

You’ll leave this workshop feeling grounded, inspired, and empowered by the embodied experience of merging your breath and deeply listening with the horses who are holding space for you. There is a heart-felt connection with the horses who see you fully in the moment.

Learn about mindfulness, authenticity, compassion, and communication from horses; Process the experience and express yourself through painting. We provide a safe, inclusive space for participants to have guided interactions with horses that facilitate creative expression.

🎉 Big news for Solano County! At the end of May, Solano Land Trust in partnership with a local farm family permanently protected 84 more acres of historic agricultural land and vital wildlife foraging habitat! 🌾🦉

In partnership with a wonderful local landowner in the Elmira/Maine Prairie Ag region, we’ve secured a new conservation easement. This means the family keeps owning the land, working, and making farming choices for their farm, while their development rights are permanently retired.

This incredible milestone brings our total land protected via conservation easements to nearly 14,000 acres! 🚜💚

The funding from this agreement helps local farming families invest in their future—whether that means buying new equipment or paying down loans—while the community benefits from protected open spaces, local food security, and critical foraging habitat for Swainson’s hawks and burrowing owls. 🦅

📬 Want to learn more about how conservation easements work? Reach out to our Conservation Director, Tracy Ellison, at [email protected].
