This is the closest this conference has been in several years! Consider sending members of your peer team, chaplains, command staff and officers to learn more about the cumulative effects of the job, how to manage and combat the stress of policing, and ways to support the families of your department from the best in the business.

Conference Details:

At the recent meeting on May 23rd, the NorCal COPS board voted to include a reimbursement for airfare (up to $500 for basic fare) for survivors that choose to attend the Surviving To Thriving Conference this year instead of their respective Survivor Weekend.

This is the third year for Surviving To Thriving and is the only opportunity outside of Police Week where all survivorships have the opportunity to get together for three days of healing, education and connection. So whether you are a surviving family member or co-worker, consider attending, this is for all survivors. ***This conference is also being held alongside the National Conference on Law Enforcement Wellness and Trauma***

The 2026 Surviving To Thriving Conference will be held in San Diego, CA (the first time on the West Coast) from November 5-8, 2026. National COPS will waive the registration fee and reimburse hotel fees (up to 3 nights) for survivors attending the conference that did not attend their Survivor Weekend. Learn more about the conference, register to attend, and download a Request for Travel Assistance for airfare from our website at: https://www.norcalcops.org/surviving-to-thriving-conference

We hope to see you there!

This is how we fulfill our mission of "Rebuilding shattered lives of surviving family members and co-workers affected by line of duty deaths." Your local Northern California Chapter is here for you.

We encourage you to attend the weekend or camp specifically designed for you to bring together survivors from across the nation that have shared in a similar loss, join us at the Surviving to Thriving Conference that will be held in San Diego this November, or attend the National Conference on Law Enforcement Wellness and Trauma, also being held in San Diego this November. This is the first time the Surviving to Thriving Conference will be held on the West Coast!
