Blanketeers,
I have sad news to share with all of you.

Blanketeer Betty Harper unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, May 5. Betty and her daughter-in-law Joleen, have been involved with our group for many years. We met a booth at the Farmer's Market about 12 years ago and as they say, the rest is history.

Funeral service for Betty will be held on Friday, May 22 at 10:00 am, at The Church of Latter Day Saints Building, 311 North Alamo Drive, Vacaville, CA. 95688.

Joleen and Dennis, we are sending condolences to you and your family. Betty was a great friend to many, and will be missed.

Last month we learned of a local girl battling cancer. We selected special Project Linus blankets for her and her brother. In addition, the wonderful group Essentially Everly also provided her with a tote of things to keep her busy while she was in the hospital. Her family is giving me permission to share pictures of Ava and Mason. I’m so glad the blankets have been some comfort. This is why we do what we do.

Hi Blanketeers and Friends,

I want to thank all of you who joined us at the meeting on Sunday, April 12th. It was nice to see so many of you there, including new Blanketeers!

We are delivering 370 blankets throughout our communities, so far this month.There was such a variety of blankets on hand, crochet baby blankets, tied fleece, fleece with the crochet edge and quilts. All will be appreciated!

Please bring:
Your blankets ready to be donated.
Sewing needles and white thread to help sew labels on blankets.
A snack to share. I will supply bottled water.
Your friends -- the more the merrier!

We will need blankets of all sizes. I have already received calls from a few places in need of blankets.

Please let me know if you plan to attend.

Remember, we will NOT hold a meeting in May as it falls on Mother's Day. We will be back in June.

Last weekend, Joleen and I delivered blankets to a local family. The youngest child is undergoing treatment for cancer. He has 2 brothers and a sister. Luckily we had the fabric on hand for their blankets and were able to get them made without having to put out a special request. Thank you Sheryl for your help, the sports blanket was a big hit! Unicorns for his sister and planets for his brother were also loved. Here's the Bluey blanket which was the favorite of the patient.

Thanks also to Carmen of "Essentially Everly" for providing one of their totes for him. It will keep him busy while he is getting treatment.
