🎶💙 Meeting Highlights – Music, Recognition & Service

This week’s Rotary meeting hit all the right notes!

🎵 We were delighted to welcome the Vacaville High School Choir, directed by Kenna Guy, for a wonderful performance. The students showcased their talent, dedication, and passion for music, bringing energy and inspiration to our meeting. Thank you to Kenna and the choir members for sharing your gifts with us! 🌟 We also had the privilege of recognizing two outstanding members with Paul Harris +1 honors:

💙 Jason Case received a Paul Harris +1 recognition in appreciation of his continued generosity and support of the Rotary Foundation.

💙 Anna Eaton was also recognized with a Paul Harris +1 honor, reflecting her commitment to service and the impact she continues to make in our community.

Congratulations to Jason and Anna on these well-deserved recognitions. Their generosity helps Rotary continue its work of creating positive change both locally and around the world.

From celebrating the arts to recognizing service above self, it was another memorable Rotary meeting.

🖤🧡 Community at Its Best 🧡🖤
Last night, our Rotary social was held at Pietro's No. 2 in support of the Draper family and their son, Owen, who is facing an unimaginable medical challenge.

What could have been an ordinary evening became a powerful reminder of what makes Vacaville such a special community. The restaurant was packed with friends, neighbors, teammates, local organizations, and supporters who came together to show the Draper family they are not facing this journey alone.

Many members of Vacaville Rotary were honored to be there alongside the broader community, sharing a meal, offering encouragement, and supporting a family that means so much to so many.

Moments like these remind us that Rotary is about more than meetings and service projects. It is about people showing up for one another when it matters most.

Our thoughts and continued support remain with Owen and the entire Draper family. ❤️

🌎Host Families Needed — You Do Not Need to Be a Rotarian!

The Vacaville Rotary Club is excited to welcome an incoming Rotary International Exchange Student for the 2026–27 school year, and we are currently looking for additional host families to help make this experience possible.

You do not need to be a Rotarian to serve as a host family. Families of all backgrounds are welcome to learn more about this meaningful opportunity to share culture, friendship, and community with a student from another part of the world.

Our student will be attending Vaca High School as a senior and comes to us from Bolivia. He is an active student who enjoys sports, academics, and connecting with new people and cultures.

Hosting an exchange student is an incredibly rewarding experience and a wonderful opportunity to build lifelong friendships while sharing everyday family and community life through the spirit of Rotary International.

A huge thank you to Sherri and David McBride for already volunteering to serve as one of the host families!

We are still in need of at least two additional host families. If you are interested in learning more, or know someone who may be a great fit, please contact Youth Exchange Representative Lisa Nouchi at 916-316-3864.

As we enjoy time with family, friends, and community this Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice made the freedoms we enjoy today possible.

From all of us at the Rotary Club of Vacaville, we extend our gratitude to those who served and especially to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Wishing everyone a meaningful and safe Memorial Day.

📱✨ Meeting Highlights – New Tech & New Recognition

This week’s Rotary meeting brought together innovation, service, and celebration.

💙 We were proud to present a Paul Harris Fellow recognition to Michelle Dickey in honor of her generosity and commitment to Rotary’s mission of service. Congratulations, Michelle, and thank you for the many ways you contribute to our club and community!

🎤 We also welcomed Claire Sammon Roberts from Lamorinda Sunrise Rotary, who introduced us to the new IGNITE App developed through DACdb. Claire walked members through how the app simplifies many of the most commonly used DACdb tools and features into a cleaner, more mobile-friendly experience. Whether you’re a longtime DACdb user—or someone who has occasionally struggled to navigate it—the IGNITE App aims to make Rotary information and communication much easier to access on the go.

From embracing new technology to recognizing continued service, it was another meaningful Rotary meeting.

🎶✨ Scholarship Luncheon Talent Spotlight ✨🎶

In addition to honoring an amazing group of scholarship recipients, we were also treated to some incredible student talent at this year’s Rotary Scholarship Awards Luncheon!

One student impressed the crowd with an outstanding guitar solo, 🎸while another delivered a powerful performance of a Janis Joplin classic 🎤.

Moments like these remind us that the future is bright not only because of academic achievement and leadership—but also because of the creativity, passion, and courage these students bring to the world.

Thank you to these talented performers for helping make the afternoon so memorable! 👏

These students represent the very best of our community—demonstrating leadership, service, perseverance, and a passion for making a difference. With so many bright futures gathered in one room, the energy and optimism were truly unforgettable.

This week is one of our favorite meetings of the year as we welcome and celebrate the incredible recipients of the Vacaville Rotary Scholarship Awards! 🌟

These outstanding students have demonstrated leadership, service, academic achievement, and a commitment to making a difference in their schools and community. This year, Rotary and community-funded scholarships will support students pursuing a wide range of paths and passions—from STEM and journalism to athletics, arts, medicine, and leadership.
