Three Hearts Native Leadership

Three Hearts Native Leadership Founded by Native women, for Native women. Skill Building focuses on practical tools for leadership - from governance and advocacy to communication and balance.

Three Hearts Native Leadership creates spaces of balance, healing, and skill-building so that our leaders can rise together in sovereignty, purpose, and community. Three Hearts Native Leadership is a Washington-based nonprofit organization co-founded by Cheyenne Sanders (Yurok), Misha Rodarte (Navajo), and Melanie Montgomery (Quinault) to strengthen leadership, mentorship, and community connection

among Native women and girls. Our mission is to nurture the next generation of Native women leaders through culturally grounded programs rooted in Service, Skill Building, and Sisterhood. Service reflects our shared commitment to community and the way Native women lead with heart, humility, and responsibility. Sisterhood reminds us that our greatest strength is found in relationships built on trust, mentorship, and shared purpose. Guided by a commitment to excellence, we design and deliver leadership experiences that honor both tradition and innovation, empowering Native women to lead with confidence, balance, and sovereignty. Three Hearts creates spaces where Native women rise together, carrying forward the strength and vision of our ancestors while building pathways for those yet to come. πŸ’—

✨ A little something to help our community shine.
Inspired by our favorite lip treatment, we created a Three Hearts version to celebrate Native women, spark conversations, and share the work we’re building together 🩷🩷🩷
Designed to make you feel good, carry a little Three Hearts with you, and help spread the word about our nonprofit.
Sisterhood. Skill Building. Service.

Today we’re celebrating our co-founder and Board Member, Melanie!
Melanie brings so much intention, calm, wisdom, and care into the work of Three Hearts Native Leadership. She constantly reminds us to stay grounded in our values, lead with perspective, and move with mindfulness even in busy seasons. Her leadership helps center this work in a way that feels thoughtful, relational, and deeply rooted in community.
As a coach, tribal leader, mentor, and sister, she leads by example every day through the way she shows up for others with grace, accountability, and heart. We are so thankful for her vision, steady presence, and belief in building spaces where Native women can grow, connect, and lead together.
Please join us in wishing Melanie a very happy birthday and a beautiful year ahead 🀍🀍🀍

Still smiling thinking about the joy, laughter, reflection, and sisterhood that filled the room at At the Heart of Community on May 17 🩡
These photos capture so much of what this gathering was about: connection, care, confidence, and community.
We hope these images give you a glimpse into the spirit of the day and the incredible women who helped make this space so meaningful.
We also want to share our gratitude for our day of photographer, Maggie of ! She spent the entire day with us documenting moments with so much care and intention. Beyond her talent behind the camera, she was simply a joy to work with and brought such a grounded, positive presence to the space.
We are so thankful for her partnership and for the beautiful way she helped preserve these memories for our community.

This , we honor and remember the Native American and Alaska Native veterans, warriors, and service members who have carried generations of courage, sacrifice, and responsibility to community. Native peoples have served in the United States military at some of the highest rates of any population, while also continuing to protect our cultures, languages, lands, and homelands.
For many Native families, service is deeply connected to responsibility, love for community, and honoring those who came before us. Today we hold gratitude for those who gave their lives, those who returned home carrying visible and invisible burdens, and the families who continue to carry their memories forward.
At Three Hearts Native Leadership, we recognize that our communities have always known what it means to protect and care for one another. We remember those who served with pride, prayer, and deep respect.
May we continue to honor their legacy by loving our people well, strengthening our communities, and protecting the homelands that shaped us. 🀍🀍🀍

It's Native Nonprofit Day 🀍

On May 21, Native communities across the country are uplifting and investing in Native led nonprofits doing powerful, community rooted work.

While we are not officially registered with Native Nonprofit Day this year, we invite you to support Three Hearts Native Leadership directly as we continue building spaces for Native women and girls to lead, grow, and rise together. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

At Three Hearts, we believe leadership is not a title. It is how we show up for our communities, for each other, and for the next generation.

Your support helps us:
🀍 Create spaces for connection and sisterhood
🀍 Invest in leadership development rooted in our values
🀍 Support healing, growth, and community power building

Giving continues through May 29. If you feel called to support our work, you can give here:

One year ago today, the seeds of Three Hearts Native Leadership were planted.
Three Hearts was created from a belief that leadership is rooted in sisterhood, service, and skill-building. We want to build something that reflected the values that our aunties, elders, families, and communities taught us: show up for your people, help carry the work, strive for excellence, and create spaces rooted in care, growth, and responsibility to one another.
Over the last year, we have tried to live those values through our actions and through the spaces we create. Looking around the room this past Sunday at "At the Heart of Community", we felt overwhelmed with gratitude for what has grown in just one year: relationships, confidence, support, leadership, and real community.
Thank you for believing in us. Please continue sharing our work and inviting others into this community as we continue growing together. πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

We are wrapping up today feeling incredibly grateful!
Thank you to every woman who showed up, shared space with us, opened up, supported one another, asked questions, reflected, laughed, connected, and helped make today what it was. There was so much honesty, wisdom, encouragement, and care in the room.
It meant so much to see women from different communities, generations, backgrounds, and leadership journeys come together and pour into one another in such a genuine way.
To our speakers and facilitators, thank you for showing up so fully and helping create conversations that were thoughtful, real, challenging, and encouraging. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and care you brought into this space.
Thank you to Seattle Foundation and the Neighbor to Neighbor grant program for supporting this gathering and believing in this work from the very beginning. Your encouragement has meant more than you know.
And thank you to everyone who supported behind the scenes: our volunteers, donors, families, friends, and community members who helped us carry this vision forward.

Three Hearts is still very new, and today felt really special for us as co-founders. We care deeply about creating spaces that feel intentional, welcoming, grounded, and worthwhile for the women who trust us enough to walk through the door.
We are leaving today tired, happy, emotional, inspired, and already thinking about what comes next.

More soon!🀍

Today is the day!
At the Heart of Community was created to bring Native women together for honest conversation, leadership development, reflection, mentorship, and community connection.
This letter is part of the welcome waiting for our cohort this morning. We wanted every woman entering the room to know this space was created with care and that her voice, experiences, and leadership matter here.
Thank you to everyone walking alongside us as Three Hearts Native Leadership continues to grow!
