Meet Our September Guest Speaker: Lina Stinson-Ali

This month, we are honored to welcome Lina Stinson-Ali as our next guest speaker for the Tukwila Historical Society’s Stories of Arrival Series.

For more than 25 years, Lina has dedicated her career to serving others through community health and social services. Today, she continues that work through HealthPoint, AZISWA, and the City of Tukwila’s Equity and Social Justice Commission, advocating for immigrants and underserved communities.

But behind her years of dedication to public service is a deeply personal journey.

Lina’s story begins in Zanzibar, Tanzania, with a family history shaped by hopes, dreams, service, and sacrifice. Her journey eventually brought her to the United States in pursuit of higher education, greater opportunity, and the ability to live openly and safely as her authentic self.

Her story shows how one family’s journey across the world can become part of the story of a community.

Join us as Lina shares her journey and the legacy that began in Zanzibar and continues today in Tukwila.

Because history isn’t just behind us—it’s happening here, together.
