In September of 2002 Edward Brooke, the first African-American elected to the Senate, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Brooks originally thought the pain he was feeling, just under his right ni**le, was a pulled muscle from gardening. Brooks underwent a double mastectomy and was cancer-free until his death in January 2015, he was 95.
The American Cancer Society states that one in every thousand men will be diagnosed with breast cancer. For more statistics go to: https://www.cancer.org/cancer/breast-cancer-in-men/about.html
