⚖️ UPDATE: Golden Dawn Tabernacle member Jose Mora has pleaded guilty.
On September 28, Mora pleaded guilty in Pima County Superior Court to one count of attempted s*xual conduct with a minor under 15, a Class 3 felony.
What the plea deal means:
• He faces 8 to 15 years in prison. The deal guarantees at least 8 years, and probation is not an option.
• 9 of the 10 charges against him are being dropped as part of the deal. The 7 other charges in his first case are dismissed, and both charges in his second case will be dismissed once he is sentenced. If the plea deal is ever thrown out, those charges can be filed again.
• All 10 original charges were Class 2 felonies, the second most serious level in Arizona.
• The two cases involved three alleged victims, all boys under 15, with alleged abuse from 1999 to 2012.
• He must register as a s*x offender and is being held without bond until sentencing on October 27 at 11 a.m.
Pastor Isaac Noriega, who is charged separately with failing to report, still had not started his court-ordered treatment as of July. His next hearing is October 19. He has pleaded not guilty and is presumed innocent.
