The Santa Cruz River Dragonfly Festival is almost here! Celebrate Southern Arizona’s unique biodiversity with a variety of events for all ages happening throughout September, hosted by the Sonoran Institute. 🌵

Some festival highlights:

🪲 Sept. 3: Bugs & Bites at Playground Bar & Lounge - Enjoy bites and brews while learning about the fascinating world of dragonflies from a team of experts

🪩 Sept. 19: “Sonoran Sashay” at club congress - A burlesque and drag cabaret show by spotlighting the beauty and resilience of the Sonoran Desert and the Santa Cruz River

🎨 Sept. 26: Family Dragonfly Activities & Art at Mission Garden: Friends of Tucson's Birthplace - Bring the whole family for a morning of art, nature, and crafts!

🌳Así llegó a la comunidad que fluye del Golfito Llanero 🦉 Ernesto Méndez, si no lo sigues en Tiktok, te estás perdiendo la exclusiva, del día a día del club de golf de Los Laguneros, que juegan en las riberas del Colector del Norte.

Ellos han sabido ser con el hábitat natural del río urbano que cruza por Mexicali. 💧

¡Ven a ver! 🐌

Al sur de Mexicali se levanta el mirador, nombrado por la comunidad como El Caracol, por su peculiar forma.

Pero... y ¿qué es? 🤔

El Mirador es un montículo que ofrece a sus caminantes una vista de más altura, 🐦‍⬛ un observatorio que se mezcla con el paisaje natural para la apreciación del fluir del Colector del Norte, para ver a las aves migratorias que descansan en el agua,🦅 mientras ofrece sombra y descanso para quienes llegan hasta arriba. 🌄

Así como este, dos más se encuentran en los corredores comunitarios de Misión del Ángel y Solidaridad, convirtiéndose en un ícono del espacio restaurado. 🪴
