Our community is focused on inclusion and collaboration.

HelpLink (formerly Spark in the Dark) is a tech-enabled nonprofit designed to meet individual basic needs through a collaboration between businesses, employees, community members, and nonprofit organizations. Every member has the ability to affect change--whether a nonprofit director, business owner, or a person in need--every member has the ability to help others and is encouraged to ask for help in times of need. There is no victim, downtrodden, or beggar; there is no hero, savior, or superior acting as a disconnected judge of individual needs. We believe every person has value and the capacity to help another, regardless of their circumstances, and ought to be treated in a way that reflects that belief. Our members help when they can with what they have regardless of their situation, which has a deep and lasting positive impact on their self-worth and sense of community; ultimately empowering individuals, and the group as a whole, to thrive and support each other through good times and bad with confidence and kindness.

19 neighbors showed up for a new mom in Clinton Township.

She is on medical leave with no income, caring for her 4 month old, and navigating postpartum depression and anxiety. She asked for help with formula, groceries, and baby essentials.

Because 19 community members chipped in, this formula need was met.

Work boots are not a luxury, they are a necessity to you health, safety, and well-being.
