HelpLink (formerly Spark in the Dark) is a tech-enabled nonprofit designed to meet individual basic needs through a collaboration between businesses, employees, community members, and nonprofit organizations. Every member has the ability to affect change--whether a nonprofit director, business owner, or a person in need--every member has the ability to help others and is encouraged to ask for help
in times of need. There is no victim, downtrodden, or beggar; there is no hero, savior, or superior acting as a disconnected judge of individual needs. We believe every person has value and the capacity to help another, regardless of their circumstances, and ought to be treated in a way that reflects that belief. Our members help when they can with what they have regardless of their situation, which has a deep and lasting positive impact on their self-worth and sense of community; ultimately empowering individuals, and the group as a whole, to thrive and support each other through good times and bad with confidence and kindness.
