We've got Habitat homes to finish in Kalkaska, and we could use YOUR help!

Construction is well underway at our Habitat Grand Traverse Region build site in Kalkaska village, and we're working hard to get four townhomes completed by the end of the year. But we can't do it without volunteers!
No construction experience? No problem! Our construction team will guide you, and there's plenty of work for any experience level.

You can give us a few hours, a full day, or even a day each week. We’re always grateful for every extra hands. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 9 AM-3 PM

When you lend a hand, you are helping local families achieve affordable homeownership.

Thanks to our long-time friends and supporters from Aspire North Realtors. They came to Kalkaska and volunteered in the rain to help build our Court Street Station homes. They don’t just sell homes, they help build them!

🏠🌳Want to be a Kalkaska homeowner and don't think you qualify?🏠🌳

“Habitat is for people with low income.” “I make too much.” “My credit isn't perfect.” “I don't have kids.” “There's no way I'd qualify.”

Habitat’s Homeownership Program was created for people who are financially ready for homeownership but face barriers in today’s competitive housing market.

Habitat Grand Traverse Region can help:
• We work with several partners, so qualified buyers do not need a down payment.
• Regardless of the value of the home, we make the payment affordable for your budget.
• Unlike the open market, our buyers aren’t competing against one another.

🏠🌳Why buy a Habitat home instead of buying on the open market?🏠🌳

Habitat’s Homeownership Program was created for people who are financially ready for homeownership but face barriers in today’s competitive housing market.

Many of our buyers try the open market first, only to find themselves:
• Outbid by offers well above asking price (sometimes by cash buyers)
• Unable to find a home within their budget
• Finding only homes that need significant repairs
• Without a down payment.

Habitat Grand Traverse Region can help:
• We work with several partners, so qualified buyers do not need a down payment.
• Regardless of the value of the home, we make the payment affordable for your budget.
• Unlike the open market, our buyers aren’t competing against one another.
