She was pregnant, caring for three children, and facing eviction.

After losing her job, Y.D. did everything she could to stay afloat - using her tax return to cover rent and searching for new work. But when she fell behind again, she received a 3-day notice.

That’s when she connected with TCCC.

Through the HousingWORKs program, she received rental assistance and support navigating next steps - all while preparing to welcome a new baby.

She kept going.

She applied for jobs.
She showed up.
She didn’t give up.

And it paid off.

Y.D. secured two job offers, returned to work, and was able to keep her home.

This is what timely support can do.

Not just prevent eviction - but create a path forward.

☀️ Stay Safe During Extreme Heat ☀️

As temperatures rise this summer, it's important to know where you can find a cool, safe place to escape the heat.

The City of Tracy has identified several Cooling Locations throughout the community where residents can find relief during hot weather. These locations are available during designated hours and can help prevent heat-related illness, especially for older adults, young children, individuals experiencing homelessness, and anyone without reliable access to air conditioning.

Please review the attached Cooling Locations schedule and share this information with anyone who may benefit.

💙 Housing Stability in Action

This past year, 276 individuals across 72 households were supported through our HousingWORKs program.

Behind each number is a family working to stay safely housed during a challenging time.

With the right support in place:
• 100% of participants were able to remain in their housing
• 100% reported the assistance helped them stay housed

This is what happens when timely support meets real need.

Housing stability is not just about a place to live - it’s about creating the foundation for families to move forward.

✂️ Volunteer Opportunity: Help Someone Feel Their Best ✂️

TCCC is looking for a licensed hairstylist or barber who would be willing to provide free haircuts for individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity through our Mobile Shower or Laundry Program.

A fresh haircut can do more than improve appearance - it can boost confidence, restore dignity, and help someone feel prepared for a job interview, housing appointment, or simply face the day with renewed self-esteem.

We're looking for someone who:
✔️ Holds a current cosmetology or barber license
✔️ Can bring their own equipment and supplies
✔️ Has a heart for serving our community

We are flexible with scheduling and can work around your availability, as long as services take place during our program hours.

💙 From Crisis to Stability 💙

When P.K. made the difficult decision to leave a domestic violence situation, her priority was clear: keeping herself and her children safe.

With support from a local women’s shelter, she was able to take that first step - moving into a safer home and beginning again. But like many families navigating transition, the road forward was not easy. When expected financial support fell through, P.K. found herself facing uncertainty once again.

That’s where timely support made all the difference. Rental assistance helped her stay in her home during a critical moment, giving her the stability she needed to focus on what came next.

Since then, P.K. has been rebuilding. She returned to work, is actively navigating the legal process to secure long-term support for her children, and is now preparing to move back into full-time employment.

Today, she is on a path toward financial independence and a more secure future for her family.

Stories like P.K.’s are a reminder that sometimes, a short-term bridge can create long-term change.

💙 Love Tracy 2026 💙

We were proud to be part of the Love Tracy event this year, connecting with community members and sharing more about the resources and support available through Tracy Community Connections Center.

Events like this bring people together with a shared purpose - giving back, supporting one another, and strengthening the community we all call home. It was a great opportunity to meet new faces, answer questions, and connect neighbors to services that can make a meaningful difference.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and to the organizers and volunteers who made this event possible. This is what community in action looks like. 💙

For many people who visit our shower and laundry programs, showing up can feel vulnerable. Asking for help is not always easy.

That’s why the way someone is welcomed matters. A smile. Being greeted by name. A kind conversation. Feeling respected.

Team members like Debbie DeGravelles help create that experience every day. Through compassion, consistency, and genuine care, she helps turn basic services into a space where people feel safe, seen, and valued.

At TCCC, support is about more than showers or laundry. It’s about restoring dignity and reminding people they matter.
