To My Fellow Members of the San Joaquin GOP central committee:
It is with great sadness that I feel compelled to tender my resignation from this committee effective immediately. When I first became involved with the committee several years ago, it was because I was feeling so disenfranchised as a conservative republican in this liberal State, and felt that our party was not doing enough of the right things to stop the insanity. I had hoped that I might be able to contribute in part in making a difference, and help guide us back on the right path. I never had any interest in power or other motivations. There were numerous times when I was in meetings, and my ideas were shot down. There were times when I and other members that agreed with me were even told to “shut up and sit down”! This is inappropriate behavior among fellow republicans!
It is unfortunate that there are so many republicans in our State as members of Central Committees, and the California GOP that believe that the best way of turning things around is doing the same old tactics in the same old ways! That is what Albert Einstein called the definition of insanity! There is virtually no outside the box thinking, and no openness to any new ideas. We have an overwhelming majority of democrats in this State, and it is NOT getting any better! We must change our way of doing things or expect things to continue to get worse!
The lack of interest in any new ideas other conservatives and I have presented over the years has lead me to believe that the party, in its current state of mind, is unable to turn things around, and therefore, my efforts are a waste of my time. I will continue to fight for conservative values, principles, and our United States Constitution in any other way I can manage. It is imperative that we fight for these things without wavering or compromise with complete integrity. If we resort to the same despicable tactics of the left, we are no better than they are. There should be no compromise with a party that has gone to the extreme left with full-blown Statist beliefs! We have strayed so far from our conservative beginnings as a nation because of continually compromising with the other party that keeps moving further and further left, and dragging the rest of us with it! I wish you all luck with your efforts, and hope that you prove me wrong with significant future successes!
Sincerely,
John M. Morley
