Switzer Learning Center Special education focused organization serving Kindergarten through 12th grade students with special needs.

Since 1966, our 5th-12th grade, coed, nonpublic, special education focused organization has served children and teens with learning, social, emotional, behavioral, and autistic impairments. We also operate a transition program that supports young adults ages 18-22 with autistic spectrum disorders as they build independence by learning job skills to transition to adult life beyond high school.

In a crowded room at the Annual TopGolf Tournament last night, our CEO Jeremy Deming bid farewell to the group of donors, board members, and staff members in attendance. Today marks his last day of service to the children, teens, and young adults we serve at Switzer Learning Center. When asked about his departure, Deming stated, "The last 4 1/2 years have been incredibly transformational for Switzer Learning Center. I'm so proud to have been part of the legacy Dr. Janet Switzer and Judy Borck created over 60 years ago. It is my sincere hope that Switzer continues to provide excellence in delivering special education programming and therapeutic support to neurodivergent students throughout greater Los Angeles." Deming has accepted a leadership role at an arts-focused foundation. We wish him nothing but success and prosperity in his new career path. 🎉😊👏

Ms. Kridle’s World History class created an interactive and engaging Living Museum where students brought important historical figures and civilizations to life. Each student researched their topic, designed a visual exhibit, and prepared a speech to educate visitors about the impact their figure or civilization had on history. Guests were invited to walk through the museum with passports in hand, stopping at each exhibit to listen, ask questions, and receive stamps along the way. Students demonstrated creativity, public speaking skills, historical knowledge, and teamwork as they transformed the Hernandez Hall into a museum. 📚
