Since 1991, Happy Hats for Kids in Hospitals, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has been dedicated to serving hospitalized children fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Our vital inpatient Hero Club, Hero Club Emergency Room, and Happy Hat Holiday Programs bring smiles, comfort, and happiness to children in hospitals through colorful, whimsical Happy Hats, handmade by volunteer
s, and coordinating 60-page bilingual, educational, fun, interactive story/activity books. The program gifts are offered to every young patient in over 60 hospitals nationwide including 35 in California, 10 emergency rooms, and 1 hospice facility in Torrance, CA. Our organization and its mission are not just about a hat and a book. We’re about touching the hearts of families as they see their suffering child smile during the most challenging days of their lives. Laughter and smiles are contagious and are truly the best medicine during the child’s healing process. We serve children of all ages and the gift packages are provided at no cost to the hospitals or families. To date, we have served more than one million children, their families, and hospital staff.
