Dear Happy Hats Community,
Recently, I reached out to ask for your help in uplifting the spirits of hospitalized children fighting cancer, critical illnesses, and receiving end-of-life hospice care. If your generous gift is already on its way, please accept my deepest, most heartfelt thanks.
If you haven't had a chance to give yet, I am coming to you today with a simple, urgent plea.
To a child confined to a sterile hospital room, the world can feel incredibly lonely and frightening. For 35 years, Happy Hats has been an inspiration of light for them. But recently, shifts in corporate funding and rising shipping costs forced us to make a heartbreaking decision: we had to scale back our programs, leaving thousands of hospitalized children without the smiles they so desperately need during their healing process.
We are fiercely determined to change that, but we cannot do it alone.
Before a whimsical Happy Hat ever reaches a bedside, it is wrapped in the warmth of an entire community. Students, seniors, and faith-based groups sew and hand-embellish each hat and tuck a personal handwritten loving message of encouragement inside. Then, talented individuals with special needs proudly package them with our bilingual activity books, sending each gift off with a "smile."
I have proudly served our heartwarming organization without compensation for over three decades—89% of every single dollar goes directly to help these precious children.
To keep our vital programs alive and re-enroll 15 major children’s hospitals across the country, we need our neighbors and donors now more than ever.
Help heal a child's heart by sending your heartfelt donation today.
See details in the attached photos.
Thank you for making sure these courageous and brave little heroes know they are deeply cherished.
With profound gratitude,
Sheri Waldstein
Founder/Executive Director
