The Hawpatch Trail project continues to move forward!

Over the past month, the team has been working on early design and technical studies for the future trail. This includes mapping out the trail route, studying soil conditions, reviewing environmental areas like wetlands, and coordinating with utility companies in the project area.

One area of focus has been the bridge crossing pictured here. Engineers are evaluating options and gathering information to determine the best approach for this important connection along the future trail.

These behind-the-scenes steps are an important part of preparing for future construction.

It was a beautiful week for project leaders to explore and examine the current conditions of the future Hawpatch Trail.

Behind the scenes, the engineering team continues important work including surveying the area and gathering information on soils, utilities, and existing features to help create a safe and well planned trail.

We can’t wait until everyone can experience the trail!

For nearly 90 years, the Wabash Railroad carried people, goods and stories across LaGrange County. 🚂

Today, that same rail line has a renewed purpose—reconnecting our past with our present.

Built on historic tracks, the Hawpatch Trail honors where we’ve been while creating a safe path for where we’re going next.

The line is back on track—and the Hawpatch Trail is full steam ahead!
