We are a private, non-profit humane society serving the Thomasville community and Southwest Georgia as a "limited admission" shelter, focusing on animals in need of owner surrender. We adopt animals, provide medical care for newly adopted pets, and provide low cost sterilization services with the "Wellness Waggin," our mobile veterinary bus. Like all humane societies and SPCAs, we are independent

and are not affiliated with, nor do we receive regular funding from, any national animal welfare organizations or advocacy groups. Your interest in the welfare of the lost, homeless, abused, and abandoned pets in our community is greatly appreciated and vital to our continued success. Only financial support received locally will ensure our future and allow us to continue to care for the 4,000 animals per year that come through our doors. WE ARE BLOWN AWAY BY OUR AMAZING COMMUNITY! 💙

In just a few days, you have helped us raise more than $12,000 toward the $20,000 in unexpected HVAC expenses!

The system has now been replaced, safe temperatures have been restored, and the animals and staff are safe. Although the immediate emergency is over, the financial impact remains.

We are incredibly grateful for every donation, share, encouraging message, and offer of support we have received. You have already carried us more than halfway to our goal, and we cannot thank you enough!

Wyatt heard it was and came dressed for the occasion. 😎🌺🤠

At just 3 months old, Wyatt is already a professional at two things: being VERY chill and being VERY chunky. 😂💙

Seriously, this little guy is about as laid-back as puppies come. He’s perfectly content hanging out, looking adorable, and apparently modeling whatever outfit we put him in.

Hi, I’m Gunny. 💙 I’m 2 years old, and I’ve been told it’s about time I introduce myself.

Here’s what you should know about me: I’m a really sweet guy, I like other dogs, I do well with kids, and I’m pretty good on a leash. They also think I’m house trained, which seems like something my future family would probably appreciate. 😂

I’m not a huge fan of this whole kennel thing. If I had my way, I’d trade it for a comfy couch and a family to hang out with. Apparently, the people here think I’d make an excellent couch potato, and I’m more than willing to prove them right. 🛋️🐾

I’m already neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, so really… what are we waiting for?

Oh, AND my adoption fee is only $60 this week during the 50% off adoption special. 👀

If you’ve only met Beans in his kennel, you haven’t really met Beans. 💙

After several months at Thomasville Humane, shelter life has been stressful for this sweet boy. In his kennel, Beans tends to shut down, but the second he gets outside, you see a completely different dog.

Beans is your classic hound: adventurous, energetic, friendly, playful, and happiest with his nose to the ground exploring the world around him. 🐾 He’s a Doggy Day Out regular, does great out in public, and is good with both dogs and kids!

This week, Beans’ adoption fee is only $60 as part of our 50% off adoption special!

Beans has been waiting several months for someone to give him a chance outside those kennel walls. Could it be you? 🥹💙

🚨 URGENT: Our shelter’s HVAC system failed, and we need our community’s financial help to cover $20,000 in critical AC-related expenses. 🚨

This is not how we normally ask for support, but today, we have to be direct. We need your help.

Last week, while the heat index outside reached 110 degrees, temperatures climbed above 100 degrees in parts of our building. Waiting was not an option. We acted immediately to protect the animals in our care and the staff working tirelessly each day to care for them.

The five-ton HVAC system has now been replaced, safe temperatures have been restored, and everyone is safe. However, the financial impact remains.

The replacement system cost $13,814, HVAC service calls totaled $936, and necessary insulation is estimated at $5,500. Together, these critical expenses total more than $20,000.

We know this is a big ask, but we also know our community is bigger! You allow us to Create Impact Every Day. Thomasville Humane’s lifesaving work is possible because of your trust, generosity, and passion for better outcomes for the animals who depend on us.
