Salted Grace Ministries

Salted Grace Ministries I consider it a sacred honor to partner with you in your journey. I am a living testimony to the hope and healing found in Jesus.

Salted Grace Ministries exists to provide biblical counsel, and Spirit-led resources, to restore hope, facilitate healing, and cultivate resilience by renewing the mind and refreshing the soul, leading individuals to transformative encounters with Jesus. My name is Ericca Jones, and I have the privilege of serving as the President and Founder of Salted Grace Ministries™ - a ministry born out of de

ep personal suffering and a passion for connecting others with Jesus and His healing Truth. For more than two decades, I’ve been devoted to walking alongside individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult moments – while navigating many of my own. What began as a personal healing journey ultimately led to advocacy and crisis intervention and has since grown into a clear calling: to help others encounter the hope, freedom, and restoration found only in Jesus Christ. Throughout my life, I’ve been passionate about sharing the Truth of God’s Word and witnessing the power of the Holy Spirit to transform hearts and renew minds. This purposeful passion fuels everything I do through ministry, biblical counsel, trauma healing, or resilience coaching. I believe in a God who restores, redeems, and renews, and it is my greatest joy to see people step into the freedom and purpose for which they were created. After retiring from a career in public service, I shifted fully into ministry, continuing to serve the community through volunteer work with Domestic Violence Lethality Assessment Teams, Court Appointed Advocacy, and trauma-informed group facilitation in faith-based settings. These experiences contributed to the establishment of Salted Grace Ministries™ - a nonprofit ministry that provides collaborative, faith-based, Christ-centered support to individuals and families in need of mental wellness care and counsel. I’ve encountered Him in the midst of my own suffering, and it has been my privilege to share that testimony – offering hope, ministering to the brokenhearted, and helping set free those held captive by trauma. You are not alone in your journey. Jesus is with you – and if you’re reading this, I am too. My heart is to see lives transformed – not just improved but truly renewed through the powerful encounters with the redemptive love of Jesus and life-transformative truth of God’s Word.

🕊Today’s Journey: Peace & Presence

📖Scripture: Galatians 5:9

✨Reflection: Waiting is seldom easy, particularly when we are desperate for a painful circumstance to change. Yet, the Apostle Paul encourages us to “not become weary [faint-hearted] in doing good, for at the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). The weariness Paul references often comes from a natural tendency to strive in our own strength rather than resting in the love, peace, joy, hope and patience of Jesus.

When striving leads to exhaustion, we become weary and vulnerable to making permanent decisions based on temporary emotions. God created us fearfully and wonderfully in such a way that our emotions serve as indicators meant to alert us to the need for change or the presence of immediate physical danger, but not to dictate how we respond. Today, let’s not grow weary in doing good by allowing our emotions to be indicators that point us to the peace and presence of Jesus.

📝Action: The first key to change is awareness, particularly emotional awareness. Today, intentionally consider your emotional reactions. Practice prayerful and purposeful pauses when strong emotions arise. Name the emotion and invite Jesus to give you a perspective that keeps you from making permanent decisions with temporary emotions.

🙏🏽Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the peace of your presence in Christ Jesus. Keep me mindful of your peace and purposeful in being present with you. Lord, when difficult emotions arise, help me to prayerfully remember to surrender them to you, using your strength to regulate and overcome temporary emotional responses. In all I do, keep me in agreement with your Holy Spirit and willing to grow more like you. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

🕊Today's Journey: The Wait: Trusting God for the Renewing of the Mind

📖Scripture: Lamentations 3:21–26

✨Reflection: In this week’s Journey with Jesus, we read the Book of Lamentations and found the Prophet Jeremiah pouring out raw, real, honest and agonizing emotions before God. He models a profound truth that God does not reject our pain, but rather, invites us to process pain in His presence. While our suffering is often a byproduct of a broken world, God strategically uses these difficult seasons to strengthen, establish, and settle us (1 Peter 5:10). As we endure, He equips us to comfort others with the very comfort we have received from Him (2 Corinthians 1:4) and ultimately transforms our pain into a powerful testimony of overcoming in Christ Jesus (ref: Revelation 12:11).

📝Action: In the Book of Lamentations, Chapter 3, the Prophet Jeremiah offers powerful insight for how we surrender to the process of transformative change. When faced with significant emotional distress, Jeremiah utilized a multi-step process that mirrors emotional regulation and practical mental health practices for positive change:

1. The Trigger (Acknowledge the Pain): Jeremiah writes, “My soul still remembers and is humbled within me” (Lamentations 3:20). The Prophet did not ignore his affliction but remembered and acknowledged how he felt as a result. It’s important to become aware that unaddressed trauma and negative thought patterns can become emotional and spiritual strongholds. The first step to emotional regulation is honestly identifying the distress without letting it consume you.

2. The Recall (Capture the Thoughts): The turning point occurs when Jeremiah declares, “This I recall to mind; therefore, I have hope” (Lamentations 3:21). His external reality had not changed, but he intentionally took his thoughts captive (2 Corinthians 10:5). By shifting his focus from the problem to the Provider of all hope, healing and restoration, he signaled safety to his nervous system, allowing the regulator of his brain (Prefrontal Cortex) to reengage.

This is a process, that while often shifts the brain toward change, may also find us feeling vulnerable during the transformation. Triggers will still arise and emotions may still be unstable; yet still, we must refuse to make permanent decisions based on temporary emotions. This is where we can apply the 24-hour rule or H.A.L.T. principle: pause for 24-hours and wait before acting, especially when you are Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired (faint-hearted).

3. The Rewire (Renew the Mind): In neuroscience, the brain’s ability to create new pathways and dismantle old, trauma-induced patterns is called neuroplasticity. We actively participate in this biological and spiritual rewiring when we consistently replace intrusive, deceptive thoughts with scriptural Truth.

The Prophet Jeremiah counteracted emotional distress by proclaiming God's attributes: His is compassions never fail, His mercies are brand new every morning, and He is our ultimate portion and inheritance. This is a process of renewal that is rarely linear and requires consistency over instant gratification.

It’s a reminder that when we demand immediate relief outside of God's timing, we act like the Prodigal Son, who refused to wait for his inheritance and ended up spiritually and emotionally destitute (Luke 15). Healing requires us to continually return to the Father, allowing His timing to dictate our steps.

🙏🏾Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the love, joy, peace and hope we have in Christ Jesus and for equipping us with capacity and ability to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Help us Lord, when we are tempted not to wait on you in difficult season. Keep us quick and intentional to turn from destructive thought patterns and actions so we can remain in agreement with your Holy Spirit. Keep our hearts and minds aligned with your truth and help us to hide your word in our hearts so it becomes who we are in you and who you are in us. In all we do, help us Lord to comfort others and lead them to you. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Equipping Educators & Healing Hearts

Yesterday, we joined in faith and collaboration with the Child Welfare and Development Project (CWADeP) and the Kono Bui Foundation to facilitate a Trauma Healing workshop for educators in Bo, Sierra Leone. This biblically based training equipped educators with practical skills to identify signs of trauma and respond scripturally, particularly when ministering to vulnerable and underserved children. Together, we cultivated a safe, sacred space for these educators to grow in knowledge, ultimately enabling them to create environments where hurting children can heal, learn, and become impactful leaders in their communities.

This effort holds a deeply personal significance for me. It represents a journey that began over 25 years ago in a classroom at George Mason University, where the late Dr. Hazel McFerson (May 15, 1942 – February 27, 2021) encouraged my research and passion surrounding the civil war in Sierra Leone, Africa. The tragedy of that war, marked by the indelible scars of trauma and the deep suffering of communities displaced by the blood diamond trade, left a profound imprint on my heart. God used that imprint to fuel a burning desire within me to seek justice, bring Christ-centered healing, restore silenced voices, and nurture transformative change. I believe that academic pursuit was a seed planted by God. It was one that the Lord faithfully watered through the Methodist Church in 2009 when I accepted an invitation to serve at the Children’s Rescue Center (CRC) located in Bo, Sierra Leone.

During that mission trip, I met a young man named Ganda Bassie. As one of the first children welcomed into the CRC in 2001, Ganda spent much of his childhood there. He emerged as a leader who joyfully cared for the other children. They looked to him for guidance, a responsibility he embraced not as a burden, but as a blessing. Ganda possessed a profound passion for uplifting his community, which later led him to establish the Child Welfare and Development Project (CWADeP) after graduating from college. This organization is deeply committed to addressing the social and economic challenges that hinder the protection, development, and well-being of vulnerable children and families in his community.

Over the years, I have watched Ganda serve tirelessly. Today, CWADeP supports vulnerable children and families, ensuring they receive the educational resources and Christ-centered teaching necessary to remain in school and have the resources they need to build bright futures fueled by hope and healing.

In 2025, our paths crossed again when Ganda traveled to the United States. He was selected as one of just 65 participants out of more than 12,600 applicants to serve in a prestigious Community Solutions Program focused on youth advocacy. After prayerful consideration, we launched this ministry collaboration to serve the people of Sierra Leone. Through this vision, we were also connected with the U.S.-based Kono Bui Foundation. Founded by Sia Moiwa, a Sierra Leonean native, the foundation shares the exact heart and passion for improving the mental health and well-being of the Sierra Leonean people through education, awareness, and advocacy.

This video captures the unity of three distinct organizations, brought together by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit for a single purpose: Glorify God. By equipping His people with knowledge, understanding, and truth, we seek to build up the Body of Christ, transform lives, and see communities flourish through genuine encounters with Jesus and the hope of true healing.

God is moving powerfully in Sierra Leone through unity and faith. We invite you to co-labor with us in prayer, advocacy, and support as we continue to establish the work of equipping and healing in Sierra Leone and beyond.

Memorial Day Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for the sacrificial love of Christ Jesus that assures us of hope. May the hope we have in Jesus bring peace and comfort to those whose family members and friends made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Keep us willing to embrace the biblical foundations upon which this nation was founded. Help us remember the need for your presence and to pray for those who serve. Help us to be a source of strength and provision for the family members of those who currently serve. Provide our military members with the resources they need. Raise up Godly leaders to teach others how to serve courageously, honorably, justly, mercifully, and humbly before you. Send your angels to surround and protect them daily. Provide your wisdom and counsel to guide their decisions. Give our military leaders favor in negotiations and courage in battle. Lead our military members, families and friends to know the unfailing love of Jesus and to receive Him as Lord and Savior. Protect their hearts and minds from the tragedies of war and provide them with resources and provision which bring hope for healing. Thank you, Lord, for those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving, protecting and defending our nation. May we always remember the cost of freedom and may it lead us live surrendered to you and in service to others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

🕊Today's Journey: Sacrificial Love: Reflection & Remembrance

📖Scripture: John 15:13

✨Reflection: Reflective days are God-given opportunities to honor others, while also discovering the unresolved matters of our own hearts [mind, will, and emotions]. On this day, we are afforded time for prayerful consideration that can help us heal from the painful moments of the past. This process often brings to the surface fear, frustration, and even rebellion, not to shame us, but for the restorative work God desires to use to transform and ultimately prepare us for what lies ahead. Today’s reflection reminds us that these are very real natural struggles, but not spiritual failure.

📝Action: As you consider the sacrificial love of Jesus, and those who have so faithfully served, prayerfully consider what the Lord is calling you to sacrifice. It could be a thought pattern, behavior, or an emotional weight you were never intended to carry alone. Write it down. Surrender it in prayer. Be intentional about giving it back to Jesus every time it attempts to return throughout your day.

🙏🏽Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the sacrificial love of Christ Jesus and for every military member who made the ultimate sacrifice in service for our nation. During this time of reflection and remembrance, may their families and friends know the comfort and nearness of Jesus. Guide us in becoming more aware of your presence as we endure the difficult process of loss and change. Help us resist the temptation to rush ahead of You as You perfect your purpose in our hearts and minds. Keep us aware that you are with us, in us, and for us, and you are greater. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
