Every minute, a woman loses her life to cardiovascular disease, and heart disease remains the number one killer of women in the U.S., accounting for 35 percent of deaths globally.* These sobering facts sparked National Wear Red Day, an American Heart Association initiative observed each year on the first Friday in February to raise awareness and inspire action.

Today, the women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated are wearing red and invite you to stand with us. When women come together, awareness becomes action, and action saves lives. That’s not only the Finer way, but also the Power of S.H.E. in motion: showing up, speaking out, and supporting healthier futures for women everywhere.
You can take action by shopping at CVS Pharmacy and Big Lots during American Heart Month, where your purchases help raise funds and awareness for heart health.

Ready to go even further? Commit to a heart-healthy lifestyle by joining the American Heart Association’s 60-Mile Walking Challenge and pairing your movement with smarter food choices.

On National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated reaffirms its commitment to education, advocacy, and community empowerment surrounding HIV/AIDS, particularly as it impacts women and families in black communities.

While progress for treatment and cures continue, systemic barriers such as racism, discrimination, and mistrust in healthcare also continue to limit access to prevention, testing, and treatment services in our communities. Guided by the Power of S.H.E., Zeta remains unwavering in its commitment to dismantling stigma, correcting misinformation, and advancing health equity in our communities.

Sisters, this work requires each of us to share trusted information and resources, host educational forums and clinics, engage in honest conversations with our youth, and meet people where they are with compassion and care.

When we use our voices, platforms, and presence, we become catalysts for change. It has always been our collective charge to continue standing as champions for health equity, and serving with impact across all communities.

We will never forget.

Each year, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated solemnly pauses to honor the lives lost, the courage of first responders who gave everything, and the resilience of survivors who continue to bear the weight of that day. We remember not only the tragedy, but the unity, strength, and humanity that emerged in its wake.

Our hearts remain with the families, friends, and communities forever changed by the events of September 11th. Their pain is enduring, and so is our commitment to remembrance.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated stands firm in its commitment to educating our communities about HIV/AIDS, especially as it affects women within the African diaspora. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Black individuals accounted for 38% of the 32,100 estimated new HIV infections in the United States in 2022.

While our Black communities have made significant strides in reducing the impact of HIV, challenges like racism, discrimination, and mistrust in the healthcare system still affect whether our people access essential prevention services.

Through comprehensive education and training, Zeta Phi Beta continues to dismantle myths and misconceptions surrounding HIV/AIDS. Our unwavering commitment to the Power of S.H.E. ensures we serve as advocates for health justice — at home and abroad. We will continue to advocate within our communities.
