ID Studio Theater 20 years of theater, music, and dance for, with, and by immigrants.

Founded in 2001, ID Studio is a non-profit arts organization committed to providing communities with culturally innovative ways to express and address obstacles faced by newly arrived immigrants and low-income families. It’s pedagogy is designed to generate interest in theater and provide a safe space for immigrants to participate and preserve the richness of their cultural practices in light of t

🇨🇴 ¡Feliz Día de la Independencia! 🎉

216 years of Colombia. 25 years of ID Studio Theater. Founded by Colombian artist Germán Jaramillo, this company has always carried a piece of Colombia in its heart, and yesterday we celebrated that fully: con música, con sabor, con orgullo. 💛❤️💙

Tres fiestas un corazón. We watched the World Cup final together on the big screen, colors flying, then kept the energy going with a live concert directed by our Colombian musical director Pablo Mayor, honoring Colombia and 25 years of ID Studio Theater creating art, community, and connection across generations.

Today, this stage is where the South Bronx gathers to tell its stories, rooted in Germán’s vision, Pablo’s music, and the culture that shaped it all. Thank you to everyone who came out in their colors and made it a celebration to remember.

La actriz y directora argentina Susana Yasan nos trae CLARICE, una obra unipersonal inspirada en la vida y la escritura de la autora brasileña Clarice Lispector.

Tras un incendio que hiere la mano con la que escribe, Clarice regresa a casa y enfrenta su miedo más profundo: no poder volver a escribir. Suspendida entre la memoria, el sueño y la realidad, se encuentra con Haia, la niña que fue antes de convertirse en Clarice.

¿Qué sucede cuando la vida interrumpe a la persona que creíamos ser?

CLARICE no es solo una obra sobre una escritora célebre. Habla del cuerpo después del trauma, de los recuerdos que cargamos, del dolor que no sabemos nombrar y del difícil trabajo de comenzar de nuevo.

A través de la infancia, la maternidad, el deseo, el duelo y la creación, es una obra que habla a todas las personas que alguna vez han tenido que reconstruir una vida, recuperar su voz o encontrar belleza después de una ruptura.

Presentada anteriormente en Argentina, Alemania y Panamá — ahora, por una sola noche, en el Sur del Bronx.

CLARICE is not only a play about a celebrated writer. It’s about the body after trauma, the memories we carry, the pain we cannot name, and the difficult work of beginning again.

Moving through childhood, motherhood, desire, grief, and creation, it speaks to anyone who has ever had to rebuild a life, reclaim a voice, or search for beauty after rupture.

"Una sala llena. Y llena de emoción. 💛
Gracias a todas las personas que nos acompañaron el sábado pasado en St. Teresa de Ávila para la presentación en vivo de Pedro Infante: Cien Años Pienso en Ti.

Un momento que vamos a atesorar por mucho tiempo: una madre nos contó que su pequeña hija salió sintiéndose más mexicana que nunca. Por eso hacemos esto. Contamos historias que ayudan a nuestras comunidades a verse plenamente y a celebrar sus raíces.

Presentada en colaboración con el Hudson Valley Writers Center . Nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a todo el equipo y la Junta del HVWC. Esperamos seguir construyendo esta colaboración. Gracias también a St. Teresa's por recibirnos con tanta generosidad.

Y esto apenas comienza. ID Studio llevará dos producciones más a Sleepy Hollow: Arsenio y Los Niños Perdidos (Lost Children: A Play in 20 Questions). Muy pronto. 🎭

One moment we will treasure for a long time: a mother told us that her young daughter left feeling more Mexican than ever. This is why we do this work. We tell stories that help our communities see themselves fully and celebrate their roots.
