This week we proudly gathered in Las Vegas for our 72nd international conference, connecting with sisters from across the organization, conducting the important business of our sorority, and enjoying meaningful moments of sisterhood, fellowship, and fun.

As we celebrate America's freedom, we also honor the resilience, sacrifice, and enduring contributions of Black Americans. For more than 250 years, our ancestors helped build the foundation of this nation through their labor, ingenuity, military service, culture, and unwavering pursuit of justice—even while being denied the very freedoms celebrated today.

Our history is America's history. Our contributions are woven into every chapter of this country's story. We celebrate not only how far we've come, but also our continued commitment to building a nation where liberty and justice truly belong to all.

Juneteenth weekend was full of purpose and unity for Alpha Alpha Omicron Omega chapter as the Connection and Social Action Committee participated in Opal's Walk for Freedom. Next we served at the City of Forney's Juneteenth at the Spellman and Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, where committee members led voter education conversations, registered new voters, and gained commitment from each household 'Vote Captain' to get their household voters to the polls for the upcoming midterm election!

We collaborated with area D9 organizations and community members to celebrate Juneteeth and continue to Advocate for Social Justice. Special thanks to Xi Delta Sigma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and President Cerita Burrell for your partnership.

This past weekend we joined forces with the men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, Delta Xi and Phi Pi chapters, to host a Healing Hearts relationship forum facilitated by licensed and accredited experts in this field.

We learned effective strategies for conflict resolution with a marriage, how to navigate, controlling intimate relationships, how to ground yourself when emotions are running high, and so much more.

Huge thanks to our moderator Dr. Curtis O. Hill, LPC and our panelists Rosalyn Rayford and Pastor Eddie Pratt on an enlightening, informative, and empowering session.
